Dr. Elaine Huang and her team are kind, compassionate, highly skilled, competent, very meticulous and detailed - a skill-set combo so necessary in people who are eye-care practitioners! I came to Dr. Huang needing cataract surgery for both my eyes in April 2025. I was concerned how this could be done and yet Dr. Huang performed the 2 procedures two days apart flawlessly! Needless to say, I highly, highly recommend this team! It just leaves me now to say a huge "thank you" to you, Dr. Huang and your team, for your immeasurable help!

Brought my 80 year old mum who is under depression to see Dr Elaine Huang at Eye Max. Staff was excellent - friendly, and knew how to manage old folks. More importantly Dr Elaine was able to communicate in mandarin, and showed empathy when speaking to my mum. She was able to explain the diagnosis clearly without triggering an anxiety attack from an elderly having depression. My mum was singing praises of her as Dr made her feel at ease. I had a wonderful first time eye check up. Instructions provided by the staff were clear and patient. Dr.Eugenie Poh is a very gentle, patient doctor and she took time to answer all my newbies queries. Leaving this review as I had a pleasant and positive experience consulting Dr Elaine Huang recently, for a screening/check up comprising some eye tests/scans since I’ve never seen an ophthalmologist to assess my eye health before. Came across Eye Max while I was researching for panel eye clinics under my corporate insurance scheme, and managed to book an appointment with Dr Huang quite efficiently. Was initially a little apprehensive prior to my appointment as I felt there was some lack of transparency over estimated prices for first time visits in general when I inquired, but I must say that my overall experience at the clinic which is def of much importance, more or less exceeded expectations. Dr Huang was very friendly, personable, patient, careful and detailed during my consultations with her (one week apart), explaining the results and responding to my queries in a calm and professional manner, in a mix of Chinese and English. Though my consultations were around lunchtime, she didn’t appear to be in a hurry or rush through the sessions, and from our brief interactions I was given the impression that she was thorough in her assessments and sincere in wanting to help patients understand their eye health/condition better👍🏻. Am appreciative of this as I’m aware that not all private doctors (particularly those who are more experienced/reputable) showcase patience, warmth and compassion to their patients in general. Some of the clinic staff/optometrists at the clinic were also rather personable and attentive when conducting the tests/checks🙂. All in all, would recommend Dr Huang to those considering consulting with Eye Max Clinic!

From the decision to have the surgery here to the completion of the surgery; from the hospital arrangements to the high requirements and follow-up of the pre/post-surgery eye data, your team's service was excellent. Of course, Dr. Elaine Huang's detailed explanations and humorous and comfortable conversations were indispensable. I am very satisfied with the entire 3-week process. My vision changed recently and with my family history of glaucoma I thought I should get my eyes checked. I booked an appointment with Dr. Poh and the staff were able to fit me in within a few days. The staff here are so patient and kind yet professional. The staff member doing my eye tests was so nice to me even though I was so nervous and scared about my test results. I later saw Dr. Poh who interpreted all of my test results and explained everything very thoroughly in a way that was easy to understand. Dr. Poh is very approachable, patient and easy to talk to about my concerns. She takes her time with her patients and I don’t feel rushed. I needed a laser procedure which was booked within a week. The staff took care of everything for me including working with my insurance company to complete the necessary paperwork. Every update was provided by telephone or WhatsApp. On the day of my procedure I was so nervous but all of the staff were so pleasant and patient, including Dr. Poh. A huge thank you to Dr. Poh, her wonderful staff, and the Day Eye Ward staff (special mention to Cindy You and your colleague whose name I can’t recall!) at Mount Elizabeth Novena for your kindness, compassion and empathy. I am so grateful for this team of incredible women!

My father in law never had Eye check up before hence I decide to bring him for the cataract screening, as my in law is mute & deaf, which should be more difficult to explain. However Dr Eugenie Poh guided him the proper direction to make the whole process smoothly. The staffs there are very friendly and nice, doing their best to make sure the waiting time won't be long doing the eye vision check. Kudos to everyone at Eye Max Centre for making my in law feeling comfortable👍👍👍
