Eye Care Alabama (Piedmont)

Overall not happy with my experience. My appointment was at 10:30 and I wasn't seen until after 11:45 at least. They were severely backlogged with patients and I guess they overbooked? One lady I sat with in there had been there since 9:30 and wasn't seen until right before I was. If I'm being held to the standard of showing up ON TIME (I even showed up early at 10:15 to do paperwork...) then I expect them to be held to the same standard and actually see me within an hour... I would have understood maybe 20 minutes late at most but an hour and a half late is just RIDICULOUS. I also had to ask for my new patient paperwork myself, they didn't know to give it to me. The nurse that did my exam was nice enough but she seemed a little apathetic. I don't really care about that because she did a good job, but thought I'd mention it. Dr. Mohan was nice as well but I felt he didn't really give me the time I needed with him. He seemed to rush through my exam. And I did not get my prescription the day of. I was told he would not have time to write it up today and I could come back Thursday (this took place on Wednesday 12/18.) or I could have the prescription mailed to me. When I confirmed I'd be coming back Thursday to pick it up, the girl at the desk told me actually I'd better wait until Friday AND call to make sure they actually have it ready. I feel like I was being asked to do what was their job. I shouldn't have to call ahead to ask if my prescription was ready if it had been written up the same day like every other office does it..... I was also given the excuse that he had to go to the nursing home in town later that day to give care to the residents there. I understand that that's a good thing he's doing and I have empathy for those people but at the same time it's really not MY problem that the doctor over extended himself and I should be a priority because I was seen earlier in the day. My stepmom has gone recently as well and she was shocked with what I told her so I guess this is not normal for their office but it doesn't really change my opinion. I'm sure this is a great office when not so busy but this was too much....

My family and I have been using Dr. Mohan for over 10 years and they've been incredible. Highly recommend!!!

I felt like the staff really went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and understood all the testing. I have some complicated eye issues that they easily managed. Doctor and staff were all very professional and made it an easy visit

Great customer service! Just by speaking with then you can tell they care about their patients. I've been going there around 4 years now. They've been great to go to every time! Highly Recommend.

Dr. Mohon and his staff are wonderful. They are very attentive to his patients needs. Dr. Mohon takes his time with his patients and don't make them feel like he has something more important or that he is rushed. While he is in the room with you he makes you feel like you are the most important person at that time. I highly recommend Dr. Mohon.

I've been using them for years and in April of 2024 I went to get new glasses and when they came in they weren't right then I took them back they fixed the problem but then had added nose pieces so I went back and they told me I would have to pay so no more I'm going to miss this place but after years of being with them and they do this

My husband and I go to the Heflin office. Dr Mohan is the best. He is very knowledgeable in all areas of eye care. He takes his time explaining what he perceives the problem and the best course of action. Dr Mohan takes the time to answer your questions and explain everything.
