Pike Road Family Eye Care is absolutely wonderful! The whole team is so sweet, welcoming, and professional. From the moment you walk in, you feel cared for and comfortable. They take their time, explain everything clearly, and make sure you feel confident about your eye care. I couldn't recommend them more!

Date 4/22/25, New patient. Confusing. I've never had to go through so much trouble! I was referred here the other day. Initially, I was asked by the representative for the phone number of my former eye doctors who closed, so that they could be reached for documentations to be sent. I did not have that information. We put that on hold for now and moved on to complete new patient admission. I was asked to provide my vision insurance. I was told they couldn't look it up whereas a different eye care place just did last week without issue. They looked it up in the system. Next, I apparently needed to provide my medical insurance in addition to my vision insurance. Well that's strange. I just scheduled a new patient appointment with that same eye care place in the city WITHOUT providing my medical insurance. Again, the only reason I'm not going with them right now is because I was referred to this place after I scheduled the appointment with them. I was giving this place a chance since they were highly recommended. So, why did this place need my medical insurance? Even with the eye doctor place that closed, I didn't have to provide my medical insurance as "backup". I've never had to provide my medical insurance. The receptionist said it's in the event there's some issue with your vision insurance then we can bill your medical insurance. What if I didn't have any? Why not just bill me in the mail like everybody else or call? I think this was racial profiling based on my last name and probably the tone of my voice too. They wanted extra insurance that they would be getting paid. Ridiculous and offensive. Nonetheless, I needed to call back with the info requested first of my vision insurance. They didn't answer 2x. I got a text from them. Instead of calling me back, they told me to call back at my earliest convenience...despite me saying I'm ready to provide the information. I couldn't provide the 'medical insurance' in the morning time and was told my information would be saved until later. I called back that afternoon. My information was completely deleted and I had to repeat it again. I'm doing ALL OF THIS at my job trying to set up an appointment for this place. Now, the first rep said she would take the phone number of the place that closed to get them to send over to them my paperwork. The second rep in the afternoon said I had to call them and tell THEM to call and give them their fax number. I don't like already all of the hoops I've had to jump through to get an appointment or the judgment. I'm seriously thinking about ignoring this recommendation. I'm waiting to get the thoughts regarding the doctor from the person who referred me after I'm off work. I want to know if they had to do this. If they say no...I'm canceling my appointment. All in all, this was so disappointing. The unwilling to assist from the beginning and requirements was unreal.

Just got home from my first appointment here. I didn't have anyone to watch my baby so I had her in tow. Unfortunately she was having a meltdown while we were there, but the entire was staff was so amazing, patient, kind and helpful. My appointment was quick and my new prescription is so much better.

THE BEST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD IN YEARS! From the moment I walked in, the receptionist showed me that she was happy for the opportunity to work and was appreciative of all of the patients and staff. She was thorough and went the extra mile to help my track down my insurance provider. Travis was a master of his craft, he guided me through the onboarding processes and tests quickly and efficiently, while also taking time to answer any questions and carrying on a conversation that felt like chatting with a life-ling friend. DR. Howell had wonderful bedside manner, she explained each step clearly and made my goals and needs a priority. When I contacted the Office later on for an issue with pharmacy filling my prescription, they quickly found a simple and elegant solution. When I called again to tell them one of my contacts was a little blurry, Karah went above and beyond to understand the problem, take proper precautions and meet my needs immediately and again when I called and requested a consultation for eye surgery, Dr. Howell took the extra time to discuss my options, explain the Process and Karah helped procure referrals for me for a few local surgeons and an in office consultation. All in all, the attitude and proficiency of the entire staff was superb! As a patient, I am so lucky to be under their care and as a business owner I am so very impressed with the quality of their staff.

I cannot say enough good things about prfec! From the time I checked in, to the time I saw Dr. Howell, and back to the front to checkout, everyone was super nice and professional. Dr. Howell, her tech, and Audrey were absolutely fantastic, and everyone including the receptionists were able to answer any questions I had. They also have the best technology, therefore getting your eyes dilated isn't needed, which is great. I would highly recommend this place, all of the staff are awesome!

My family and I have been going here for over 5 years and never had an issue but today for some reason the lab manager Chris decided to pop off at me for no reason in front of other customers and then continued to smart off after I asked for my money back because of his attitude. We will definitely be looking for another eye doctor.
