Eye Care Alabama (Roanoke)

This was my first visit with Eye Care of Alabama. I was pleasantly surprised! I had no difficulty scheduling an appointment. The staff is polite and professional. I was greeted promptly upon my arrival. After a very short wait I was taken to an exam room. Dr. Mohon is a good listener. He addressed my questions to my satisfaction. I will be back.

Dr. Mohon is an incredibly intelligent and thorough doctor who truly cares about his patients. He always takes the extra time to explain everything in detail and even makes sure we have his personal cell phone number in case we need him after hours. I've moved everyone in my family, including my extended family, under his care because of the trust and confidence we have in him.

Our appointment was at 3:30pm. We signed in, no one greeted us or took our insurance cards. We waited until almost 5pm and left. The front desk never explained why they were so behind or if we would like to reschedule in person or when we signed in. She didn't even speak! I called to ask what was going on and to get an explanation and she kindly explained that someone called out and they were running behind. The office management here is terrible apparently. It's sad because I truly like the doctor. If you are going to work with the public then you have to actually care and talk to people and greet your customers when they walk in the door!

First of all, this is not my real name. We live in a small community and retaliation is huge. We came in a few Mondays ago. Front desk was very rude and while we were waiting I even heard her talking negatively about a coworker. We had a lady doctor and she acted like we were a burden and a waste of her time. She literally rolled her eyes at my child this is unfortunate because I have heard great things about the male doctor there. But I'd say overall very unprofessional and if he allows this he must not be either.

Wait time is ridiculous. App time was at 3:30 still sitting there at 5:30. Left and rescheduled for following week. Same thing app at 3:30 and finally got to see Dr at 5:00. People getting up and leaving because they were tired of waiting.

Great staff and the doctor was very thorough and explained things well. I highly recommend!
