White Mountain Eye Center: Dr. Bryce A. Palmer, OD

I've been coming to this eye care center for years, and I can't say enough good things about it. Fifteen years ago, during the Christmas holiday when the office was closed, I had an emergency--my glasses snapped, and I was out of contacts. One of the doctors happened to check their voicemail, called me back, and went out of their way to meet me, providing free sample contacts. That level of care left a lasting impression. Since then, I've moved away and come back, and I still prefer this office over anywhere else--including Barnett Delaney. They've always provided excellent service, whether helping me choose new glasses or navigating my insurance. Now that my daughter wears glasses, I bring her here too. She's a bit shy, but the staff was incredibly kind, making her feel comfortable and giving her encouraging feedback while she picked out frames. I'm surprised they don't have better reviews because this truly is a great place. The staff is friendly and professional, and the doctors take the time to educate patients while ensuring their eye health is well cared for. As someone with an autoimmune disease requiring occasional steroid treatments, I appreciate how thorough they are in monitoring my eye health. Overall, this office has consistently provided exceptional service and care, and I highly recommend them.

I called the snowflake office on Dec. 30, 2024 to make an eye appt. The receptionist was very condescending about my insurance, but I over looked it and went ahead and scheduled for Feb. 3rd. Today, Feb. 3rd I called to check on the time of my scheduled appt. The rude Ms. Burke repeatedly told me she did not have me on the schedule. But she did have my husband. I went over the conversation of the 30th of December with her. She still insisted that I had no appt. I will not be doing business with an office that has rude staff. And told Ms. Burke so.

Beware!! This office discriminates. I was completely ripped off and treated differently than other clients. I believe it was because of my insurance and another reason I won't mention. They basically sold me progressive readers and sold me the frames from the try on rack ( I was unaware until I picked them up 3 weeks later) and charged me $1500.00. I had no choice as they charge my cc at first visit before glasses arrived. I could only go to their office based on my insurance. The glasses are basically the same as you buy off the Walmart reader rack for $5.00

The dog chewed the ends of my eyeglasses while we were here looking to buy a house... They were my driving glasses, and I have to drive all the way back to Washington, and I was kind of freaked out about not having my driving glasses by the end of this week. By the end of the day (the day I found them chewed) I had been given these little plastic do-hickeys, that saved the ends of my glasses, and I felt like a very warm welcome to this town. Excellent service and friendly staff. I am very satisfied. :-)

Dr. Stuart is very personable. New glasses arrived early. Prices are on par with other providers.

Actually terrible experience, first of all at the end of my visit I was told I had paid everything and could go ahead and pick out some glasses. I told them I was going to buy my glasses online, everyone got a little bit rude so I verified again that my bill had been paid and left. I went online to purchase my glasses and they must call the optometrist to verify the prescription, after two weeks the company contacts me saying they can't get in touch with my doctor. Luckily they agreed to ship the glasses anyway. When I got my glasses was when I found out that my prescription must be totally wrong because my 7 year old glasses function much better than everything I got with my 'new' prescription. Going to another optometrist I was told that the prescription I received from White Mountain Eye Center was wildly incorrect. On top of all of this, they began contacting me about "payment due", I'm not sure if it was an extra fee to get them to not talk to my glasses manufacturer but I'm not paying them.

Great experiences every time we've gone. They do a great job with my kids and are super helpful.
