My stepfather was a patient for many years some time back and had previous good experiences taking him there that I wanted to become a patient myself. I called this office to ask about the cost of a contact lens exam without insurance; as mine is out of network. Due to poor phone reception, I had to repeat myself a few times, which I understood and didn't mind as I tried to find a good reception spot. What took me off guard was the receptionist's response. Instead of handling the situation patiently, she audibly; concisely and loudly said, "Ugh, I don't understand you," in a way that was highly rude and dismissive. It was unexpected and made the interaction uncomfortable to the point I hung up. I understand miscommunications happen especially with phone reception but professionalism and courtesy; especially in a healthcare setting; are important. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression to the point that if that is how I am treated on the phone; I will not be going there.

I have been going to Dr. Takhar for about 8 yrs now. My last visit I seen his wife, both of them are amazing and the staff there really care about their patients. I always walk out knowing that I will be able to see better than before. I highly recommend there office. They take almost every insurance like medical and vsp. Thank you for all you do. Oh,and I always get a Happy birthday txt from them every year.

Dr. Takher provides exceptional patient care. My husband and I have seen him for many years and were always very pleased with Dr.Takher. He goes the extra mile. His staff is very patient oriented and kind.

Took my 4yr old for an eye exam at Yuba City office. Receptionist was belittling for being 7 minutes late. Which yes I should have been on time, but one person getting a 4yr old and 2yr old ready by yourself can be a challenge at times. The eye exam equipment was for adults and to big for my daughter. After they did the best they could with exam equipment we proceeded to see the doctor who was extremely nice and recommended full time glasses for my daughter. Given the circumstances with the equipment I sought out a second opinion from a pediatric ophthalmologist before I put glasses on a 4yr old full time. Today my wife called to schedule an eye exam for herself, spoke to receptionist Helen who was extremely rude and kept lying to her about my insurance not being accepted. Eventually she came clean said it was at doctors discretion not to see my daughter anymore or anyone in my family because they could see from the insurance I was seeking a second opinion for my 4yr. Told my wife they would send my daughter's prescription to the new ophthalmologist office and we could pick it up there. Then she just hung up on my wife.

Terrible front office management. Told me I did not have an appointment when I did. Eventually, after resistance I had them look under my phone number. They had my name incredibly misspelled despite spelling it out twice on the phone and having it repeated back.. As a result when they ran the insurance provided when I made the appointment it was declined. They failed to phone me that they had an insurance issue. The intent was for my wife to pick out frames for her prescription and for me to get an exam and pick out frames. We both quickly agreed that if a simple appointment is such a mess, with nasty attitudes so bad I wish not to repeat them, that it would be illogical to do business with them.

Amazing customer service, great doctor, got my glasses back fairly quick, and I LOVE them, over all amazing experience. I left happy -Kady Graham

Staff is friendly, Dr. Takher is great and thorough. I Always have a good experience.
