I've been a patient at this clinic for years, and have always received excellent service. Dr. Lam never seems rushed, always explains thoroughly, and answers my questions. I've never had a billing problem or a problem with a prescription lens. -- Of course, as a one-of high-quality office in a small community, Coastside Eyecare can't compete with the big chains and big-box stores in terms of pricing. What I do is have my eye care (appointments, treatments) at this clinic, and take their prescriptions to the cheaper places to buy my lenses.

In reviewing the doctors and staff, I have always had excellent service. I've seen different doctors and have had consistently thorough care. The optician is a different story. He broke my husbands lenses (while he was standing right in front of him!) with a "these things sometimes happen" attitude and tried to have my husband pay for a new set.

Really disappointed by the service. Took my 80+ year old mom here; great eye exam and loved her choice of glass frames. 5.5 weeks later no glasses - a lot of promises and werid conversations about them coming "tomorrow". They happily upsold to 1.2k....I have to keep calling to understand when the glasses might arrive. I went local and regret it. Promised me a call back - nothing. I've been super polite and patient. I would never recommend them again.

However, this is usually due to the detailed care and service you get. On my recent visit, the Dr. spent almost 45 minutes helping me identify what had changed in my vision and talking through options.

Please ask for the cost of eye exam before you make an appointment, I was very disappointed that they did not mentioned the cost before booking the appointment with me. This mistake resulted on me paying 150% more than what a exam usually cost. There is plenty of optometry office where you can get your exam wayyy cheaper and with same or better service.
