Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry

TLDR: Dr. Son Nguyen is a personable and thorough optometrist. His office is bright, clean, and hip. Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry stocks a wide assortment of quality frames from high end brands such as Mykita, SALT, and Ray-Ban. I highly recommend this place! I was looking for an optometrist that stocks Mykita frames. Only a select few places in the South Bay carry this high quality brand from Germany, and Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry is one of them. This place is different from other bland and standard optometry offices. The place is filled with unique touches. The hanging lights are shaped like what can only be described as exploding deconstructed Death Stars in neon green and red. An orange futon lends a chic urban touch. Eyewear displays are made from recycled books. The store carries a wide assortment of frames from Mykita, SALT, Ray-Ban, Eyevan. These brands are hard to find, and they can all be found here. As for the eye exam, Dr. Nguyen showed me to the exam room which was clean and modern (he uses an iPad for part of the exam). He was very friendly, like talking to an old high school buddy. His exam was thorough and he took his time to explain what he was doing and why. He recommended a better contact lens brand that saved me money. I'm currently wearing them, and they're so comfortable that I would not go back to my old brand. I also got myself a pair of Mykita frames that are light, durable, and stylish. Dr. Nguyen personally adjusted the frame so that it would seat properly on my face. It's comforting to know a trained optometrist took the time to adjust the frames, unlike other places. An eye-opening experience of what an eye exam and eyewear purchasing experience should be like. Say goodbye to the old ways, and say hello to Morgan Hill Eyecare Optometry.

Though this review is long overdue, it's written with sincere appreciation. My husband and I had our eyeglasses made by Dr. Son Nguyen back in 2021 at Morgan Eyecare Clinic, and to this day--three years later and now living in Florida--we still consider those to be the best-fitting and most precise pairs we've ever had. We've seen several optometrists since relocating, but no one has matched the care, attention to detail, and optical precision that Dr. Son provided. His professionalism, patience, and ability to get our prescription just right left a lasting impression. Only now, after having a broader point of comparison, do we fully realize how exceptional his work truly is. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a dedicated and skilled optometrist. I've never seen a business with all 5 star reviews on both google and Yelp, after my appointment I see why! Dr. Nguyen is a superb optometrist. He took his time trying to find the problem with my eyes, and thoroughly ran different tests to come to a conclusive answer. I finally feel relieved and that my eyesight is in good hands. He took his time and kindly explained the logic behind his diagnosis. I've never had an optometrist do that for me! He is honest, professional and his receptionist is Fantastic! She took time after my appointment to help me pick out frames that would fit my face and look good as well. I'd definitely recommend him to anyone!

I found this office easily and made the appointment online. Office is really nice. Equipment is very good looking, frame selection is vast. The doctor really explains everything and uses easy to understand terms and seems very very knowledgeable. I took the retina photo instead of dilating which is very convenient. Insurance was easy and the prices were way good. Receptionist is very nice. Got my glasses and the vision was excellent, this doc knows what he is doing. Gonna tell all my friends! This place is on fire, it's hot! Plus, they're letting me come back within an entire year and will give me 40% off my second pair! I don't have to buy on same day as first pair to get that deal! Love this place! Coming back for sunglasses this Christmas!

The doctor here is very good, very thorough, explains everything in detail and the glasses came out perfect. The frame selection is very fairly priced and very good quality. Highly recommend this place and I'm never going to the other optometry shops in town ever again. This is going to be my new go-to Eyecare provider. Also, very friendly. A delightful experience from beginning to end.

Dr. Son nyugen is the best you can find. He is very particular in how he assesses the patient and takes the time to educate rather than pressing prescriptions. He also doesn't simply recommend glasses unless there is a strong reason to wear them. His office is kid friendly and has a good collection of eye wear to try out and purchase. Highly recommended for your vision needs in Morgan Hill.

Selection - Customer service - Professionalism - Convenience - I recently switched to a new insurance and was due for new glasses and a prescription but wasn't sure where to go. I looked up the places listed in the VSP directory on Yelp and Google, and was impressed by the photos of the frame selection and store. When I went with my husband to visit here in person, we were not disappointed! It is very conveniently located in the shopping plaza near Dollar Tree, which is not a far distance to where I live. The store was very clean, tidy, and had a good variety of frames and options, and both of us were impressed by Doctor Nguyen's ability to provide detailed information and opinions of all the frames I was interested in. Many of the frames are very stylish and trendy, some them being on the (justifiably) high end in terms of price because of their very high quality and workmanship. However, there are also very nice, affordable, and basic frames! I settled on a cute pair of pink round frames, but declined Doctor Nguyen's offer to schedule an eye exam because I had gotten an eye prescription just last year with another eye doctor. All eyeglass prescriptions are the same, aren't they? As I found out the hard way, no, they really aren't! When my new glasses arrived, the frames were wonderful, but my eyes just couldn't get used to the prescription! Wearing them made me feel like I was looking through a type of funhouse mirror where everything looks subtly distorted. I remembered the doctor mentioning that this place has an Instagram account and saw a post about how eyeglass prescriptions can be inaccurate due to the methods used by other optometrists. I felt extra bad about not accepting Doctor Nguyen's offer to perform an eye exam, since it resulted in my glasses being faulty. I worked up the courage to email him through the business's website, and to my great relief, Doctor Nguyen not only responded fairly quickly, he was very understanding and assured me that the correction process would not be difficult or expensive. The following week, I was able to go in for a quick 15 minute refraction and had my glasses sent in for lenses correction. Painless! I just picked up my glasses again yesterday, and unlike last time my eyes adjusted to them fairly quickly, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience. Don't be like me and use any eyeglass prescription! Definitely take up Doctor Nguyen's offer to get a proper eye exam to make sure that you get the correct prescription. I hope Doctor Nguyen will be here in Morgan Hill for a long time to come, I will definitely be sticking with this place for all my optometry needs!

Dr. Son Nguyen was absolutely the best eye doctor I've ever been to bar none. He did a great job. I gave him a five star rating and I'm referring him to my friends and family.
