Dr. Fred Schmidt

When I went in for my appointment I was experiencing double vision. Dr Schmidt told me part of the problem was my glasses were not adjusted properly. He said they should be bowed into the face and mine were bowed away from the face. After checking my eyes he tried to adjust some prism in my lens to help correct the double vision, but was unable to because the strength was to great. After he was done his assistant said she could try to adjust my glasses but hoped they wouldn't break. Well she was able to adjust them and when I put them on the double vision had almost all but disappeared. 2 hours after, I was able to see without squinting or closing one eye to focus. My problems with double vision had resolved and all because my glasses were not properly adjusted. Additionally, when I received my current pair of glasses 9 months ago from another source, ago they were adjusted bowed out.

I've been wearing glasses and contacts majority of my life and have never felt so welcome and taken care of in an eye doctor's office! Everybody was so kind and incredibly informative. Dr. Schmidt was super thorough and very kind. Highly recommend!!

WONDERFUL staff and dr. My 9 year old daughter has had a hefty prescription since a young age and we regularly go to the eye dr. Just moved to 29palms and am so grateful for this place! The staff is very knowledgeable and work together to ensure the customer is satisfied and everything is accurate, dr. Schmidt takes the time to thoroughly explain everything to ensure you understand what's going on! Very kid friendly and interactive! Never had such a positive experience with an eye appointment before! 10/10!

I absolutely love this doctor's office. I am a military wife who happens to also be covered under my parent's insurance as well as TriCare. The ladies in the office are beyond helpful and nice. From the time I made my first appointment they were very friendly and worked around my odd work schedule. Dr. Schmidt is also extremely nice and very good at his job. He wanted me to try new contacts, and after I came back and did not like them, he adjusted them and they are now the best contacts I've ever had. I also had to miss an appointment last minute, and they were able to squeeze me in the next day. I 100% recommend this office to anyone in the 29 area!

This is a small town doc and office that genuinely cares for its patients and community. What a gem! Wonderful customer service, professional and thorough eye exam, and a terrific selection of glasses.
