Even though I moved, I still drive from 45 mins away to see Dr. Gioscia. I appreciate how detailed and careful Dr. Gioscia is with my exam/fitting every year, and he personally checks to make sure my glasses and contacts fit right. I saw negative reviews here, perhaps a thorough, meticulous, and conscientious approach isn't for everyone?

Dr. Gioscia and his receptionist at Crossroads Family Eye Care in Mansfield CT are a joke! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! POOR CARE! I give them negative stars! I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was very nice. She wasn't sure how to handle my vision insurance so her and I had a conference call with my insurance company. They walked her through everything she needed to do as far as what my insurance covered and how she should put in tbe claim. After our conference call she seemed like she understood what needed to be done. Perfect! Ready for my daughter's appointment. The day before her appointment I got a phone call confirming her appointment the next day at 1pm. All is good, or so I thought. We got to the office and Dr. Gioscia starts the exam and during the exam starts taking to me about how difficult my insurance is to deal with. I told him I could call them, again, and make sure his office had everything they needed to put through the claim. He then told my daughter and I that he didn't want to deal with it and he would do the exam, not charge us but wouldn't sell us contact lenses. For insurance purposes I needed the exam and the purchase of the contacts done at the same office. Which I had already explained that to him and his receptionist prior to the appointment. I was so blown away with how rude he was being, my daughter and I got up and left. I took time off from work for this and I still have to find another doctor who takes my insurance and wait for another appointment!!! I have never been treated so unproffessionally.

The experience itself was fine. I have no complaints about the exam or the staff. Personable and attentive. Big huge complaint though? They won't give you all of your measurements for glasses (pupillary distance in this case) unless you're buying glasses from them. So if you plan on buying glasses elsewhere or online, you'd be better off going somewhere else for your exam. I've never had a place do this before and I've been to a lot of different places for eye exams.

He is for sure unhappy when I want to use my insurance to cover the cost! And he said "the discount and insurance coverage cannot be used simultaneously", then he still can make as much as money they can make from the patient. They pretend to be polite and nice, but they try to fool people and get the money from the patient.

It was easy to schedule an appointment. Doctor was extremely thorough, taking time to explain each test and the results. Excellent, professional, one-on-one service. Highly recommend.

First time going to Dr. Gioscia and I must say i'm very impressed. By far he is the best Optometrist I have seen. I've probably been to around 6 or so over the years. He best exam to date. Dr. Gioscia is extremely personable and upfront about things. I will recommend him and his facility and hopefully be back.

Dr. Gioscia is great, knowledgeable and understanding. He's a genuine person who makes sure all his patients get the best treatment. Recommend 10/10 over anywhere else

Sort of a transactional experience. I got my prescription sketched onto a piece of paper and I was send on my way. I was told that whoever sells your glasses will measure your pupil distance ect... In the past I received all of that information in a typed prescription. Is my prescription in their system for the future? I didn't see that...
