I had just about given up ever wearing contacts again. I had seen two different eye doctors that didn't give me any options except to consider lasik in the future. I couldn't wear them for even an hour. I ended up coming to this office for my yearly exam and for glasses as a new patient. I was given a plan to get me wearing contacts again. I was so happy to have hope! After trying eye drops, different brands of contacts (samples were given) and tear duct plugs, I am very happy to say I can wear contacts again a couple days a week. My experience has been extremely pleasant with every person in this office from the front desk to the Dr. to the eyeglasses section. The other reviews are a surprise to me because their customer service to make everything great has been too notch. I felt that my left eye was a little off and they got me in and double checked everything with no complaint. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Although Dr. Castagna was very thorough with my eye exam, there were many problems following. When it was time for getting lenses, the trouble began. I asked if I could use my old frames, I was told yes but they could break. I said I'll take my chances. This was on July 29th 2025, they sent my frames out to be fitted with my prescription...a week later they called and asked if I could stop by, they then told me they broke my frames, so I had to pick out new frames, my frames were only one year old . The young lady I was working with said that they would give me a deal on new frames. About seven days after they said my glasses were ready to pick up, but when I got there and tried them on I couldn't see with them, she tried adjusting them and no matter what she did they were wrong. She said they would over-night new lenses. They called and said new lenses were in and I could come pick them up. Again no good, same story again, we will over-night them and going to a different technician this time. August 29th still no good Strike 3 I'm done, asked to speak to the doctor and that didn't go very well and was told basically that they couldn't help me and I should take my business elsewhere.... And we went there because it was convenient being so close . Bad move and went back to our other place September 27th 5 days later have my glasses and very happy! Stewart Vokey

I had many concerns regarding my vision that I was looking forward to discussing during my eye appointment. I was told directly within the first five minutes of my appointment that my prescription was wrong, what I thought I wanted for my sight was wrong, and that I needed something totally different. I could not ask my questions and found that none of my concerns were ever addressed. I was a customer with the former doctors and LOVED every part of this practice and am wholeheartedly disappointed in the treatment I received from Dr. Castanga.

I've been going here for many many years. Very professional the Dr is very knowledgeable and thorough with my eye exams. The optical center has many choices and a professional star as well, I highly recommend!

Did have an issue with defective lenses that did take longer than expected to be reordered. However the staff here understood my frustration. This staff cares about their customer's. If you want to deal with people who care give them a try.

Excellent experience! Switching eye doctors to Tolland Eye Care! My young child accidentally gouged my cornea this morning. I was pretty upset and a little out of sorts when I called in and I didn't know where to start. Even though I wasn't a current patient, they got me right in and evaluated my eye. Everyone in the office was courteous and professional. The eye doctor was thorough and expressed patience explaining to me what to expect during recovery. I really felt like I was in good hands. A+ experience. Thank you all!

I called at 8 am this morning ( a Saturday) with an eye emergency. I had never been here before and they were fully booked this morning, yet I was told to come right in and the Doctor would fit me in between his appointments. Everyone there was very nice and the Doctor is outstanding! Not only did he thoroughly evaluate my situation but he also took time to thoroughly explain what was going on and why. He patiently answered my questions and is very nice. It's rare to find any place to take you if you're not a regular patient, let alone treat you like you've been a patient for years. This is now my new Eye Doctor! Thank you to everyone at Tolland Eye Care!

Eye exam part was great . But that's where it ends . Took over 4 weeks for glasses and just like other reviews they never return calls finally just showed up asking to please let me know something. They hadn't come in but would call when they did , I chuckled yeah right. Read the reviews if customer service is what you value and go elsewhere .
