I have been a patient for about 4 years. Every time I had an appointment there was a problem... long waits on hold, problems with not updating insurance despite calling multiple times, canceling an appointment because insurance wasn't verified correctly (but did not tell us until we showed up), very rude front desk staff and most recently canceling an appointment made 10 months prior via a text message with no way to reschedule. Good thing I already found a new doctor's office. This place is terribly run!!

I have been a patient with Dr. Young for about 10 years. I can always expect to be in the office for an hour for routine annual visits. In summer 2024, I called to schedule my annual eye appointment. I was scheduled for January 2025. 1 hour before my appointment, I was called and told he had an emergency and needed to reschedule, for September 2025 after already waiting over 6 months for my appointment. Yesterday, I got a text that he retired and I needed to call to reschedule my appointment. Meanwhile, all the times I have tried to call and schedule an appointment, I've waited an average of 30-40 minutes to talk to someone. I went to another eye doctor earlier this year since I was told my appointment wouldn't be until September and they told me my prescription has been written backwards for years. There are many levels to this practice that need to be changed and I will not be rescheduling with another doctor.

I have been attempting to reach out to them for awhile. I first attempted to reach out via their online contact option since I tend to be on the go and don't have time for phone prompts and such and usually doctor offices are on top of their online contacts. I've gotten no response from them and I attempted to call a couple of times, left a message, no response. I've called close to and after office hours a couple times as well, they won't even let you leave a message if you call just before closing. the voicemail hangs up. What kind of office doesn't let you leave a voicemail? Why aren't they on top of the online contact options either?

(Edit #1) This location has cancelled my appointments TWICE now within the same year, forcing it to the following year, with zero care for showing they want to reschedule--it's always just a "This appointment has been cancelled ". Keep in mind the original appointment had been schedule over a year ago, they cancelled and it was reschedule for 6 months later, and now three months until the new one they cancelled that one too. How utterly inept is the Silverside office that they can't retain their doctors and/or reschedule correctly? Do they not understand that insurance often covers one visit a year--rescheduling multiple times from one year to the next completely screws the end user. I'm done with this place. (Original) I chose to write this review after my last experience at the Silverside location. I've been going to DOC at Silverside for about 15 years and never really had any issues--maybe trouble scheduling an appointment because they're busy and/or short-staffed, but nothing majorly deal-breaking. Unfortunately that's no longer the case. During my last appointment--a basic yearly eye exam--it was extremely obvious that DOC is trying to operate well past its capabilities. I'm at the point in my life where my vision is going through rapid changes (for the worse) and I really need a practice to help me work through those changes, figure out options, talk through potential surgery, etc. When I was there for my last exam and tried bringing up these questions,Dr. Young literally got exasperated after about 10 minutes, ended the visit, and took me out to the optical shop saying, and I quote, "Can you deal with these questions? I don't have time for this!" and ran off. As I was wrapping up at the front desk, they told me he recommended my next exam be two years out instead of the usual one year--again displaying an utter lack of understanding and empathy, let alone a total absence of communication. Now I'm looking for a new practice that will actually care about its patients. DOC gets 2 stars for their previous service, but unfortunately that appears to all be in the past now.

Every doctor I have seen here has been great but good luck trying to get some one on the phone. I was on hold for a hour trying to get access to my patient portal so i don't have to deal with the phone system anymore. And wouldn't you know right when the automated system said i was next in line after an HOUR it go sent to a voicemail that didn't exist so it hung up! It even offers an option where you can leave a voice mail instead of waiting but know one ever calls you back!

Dr. Heather Dealy at Eye Consultants performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes and has restored my vision to perfection. It's as if Dr. Dealy turned on the ultra high definition and vivid color mode of my eyes. I can't thank her enough for her outstanding work and the care I received at Eye Consultants. Ken Gelsinger

Dr Stewart has managed my eye care over 10 years. Her expertise a d knowledge has allowed me to live w my progressing eye health. Highly recommend Dr Stewart for all eye health and maintenance.

I have really enjoyed the providers here. Access is very limited here, if you want a routine eye exam appointment you have to book 6 months out. I think this is a great place if you need a specialist for cataracts, glaucoma, etc. if you need a routine eye exam it's a long time to wait when a lot of other places have appointments the same week.
