Dr. Pourkesali

Had cateract sugery in my right eye, I had probles after, went back 3 times and he said the eye was perfect, I still could t see it was all distorted. I asked about lazer surger to fix it and he said no you dont need it.He told me to wait 6 weeks and come back..I was discusted and decided to seek a second opinion, went 3 days later to another Dr and he said I had a lot of scar tissue. Had the procedure done and now I can see. I feel he didn't listen to me about my concerns. Also the new dr said I really didn't need cateract surgery. I would not go back. Do your research before having anything done to your eyes.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful practice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Dr. P performed a laser procedure - painless for me and painless for my wallet. I was in and out quickly and I'm already pleased with the results. Highly highly highly recommend.

I went to Dr.Pourkesali 2 weeks ago for my yearly exam. Last year I was told my eyes were very healthy. This time I was told I had cataracts in both eyes and needed surgery. That night I happen to see a discussion on Plantation Bay neighbor with regard to the doctor. Several people said they went for second opinions and found out that the never needed surgery. Others who had surgery lost partial eye sight. I went for a second opinion and was told my eyes were very healthy, I did have the start of cataracts, but could wait any where from 5-10 years before I would need surgery. So people be careful of Dr Pourkesali, either he needs his eyes checked or he is money hungry!!!

Dr. Pourkesali and his staff were awesome! He corrected my astigmatism in both eyes, and replaced my lenses in both eyes due to cataracts. His demeanor is friendly, compassionate, and treated me like a friend not just a patient. His staff was very professional and helpful all the time. I have already recommended them to others that I know looking for a top-notch eye physician and surgeon. I highly recommend them.

After my cataract surgery with this doctor, my vision is worse and I am unable to read anything at all without glasses. My true concern is that when I asked him how we can fix this, he said there's nothing I can do. And sent me on my way. Very disappointing. I did consult with another doctor and he's in the process of correcting my vision to 20/20 Which is what I expected from this doctor. His attitude was very indifferent AFTER The surgery. I cannot recommend this doctor for cataract surgery.

Dr Pourkesali is the only opthalmologist I would ever go to. I had a very difficult cataract removal and he did a fantastic job with a very concerning situation. His manner is comforting and professional. He's just the best Dr for surgery and treatment of the eye. His staff is exceptional and the office is run very well. I just can't say enough about him and his staff.

While I did find Dr Pourkesali professional with the surgeries on both of my eyes, I actually had worse vision in my right eye after the surgery. I used to only have to wear glasses while reading and had very good long distance vision. After the surgery, I can read very well without glasses but know my long distance vision is terrible...it is very difficult for me to drive as I cannot read street or road signs. As he recommended a "PAN" lens for me, I felt the Pourkesali made an error in his calculations or procedures and has permanently damaged my right eye which has always been my good eye. In subsequent visits, he has not been able to provide any additional remedies. I am currently seeing a Doctor at Tomoka Eye who is attempting to correct my damaged vision. I would STRONGLY suggest that you get a second opinion before committing to surgery with Pourkesali.
