I have had eye issues off and on most of my life. For the last 20 years, Dr. Melanie Clemmons has been my optometrist. She has also been a great friend. Several times I had eye issues when out of town, once in Alaska and another time in Savannah. Each time when I called, she took care of my needs. I have never been disappointed and believe me over 20 years I've spent a lot of time in her office.
Dr. Clemmons always spends ample time with each patient. I know she has with me.
If you're in the area and need an optometrist, trust me, Dr. Melanie Clemmons is the best there is.

I've known De Melonie since coming to Ellijay 20 years ago. She has always gone the extra mile for me. One example happened when I had surgery in December 2025. Somehow my right eye was abraded during my kidney surgery. Dr. Melonie came to my hospital room after a long work day and brought me a contact will a gel and put it in my eye. The relief from pain was immediate. She is a wonderful optometrist and a good friend to me.

So I typically avoid getting my eyes checked because I've never found glasses that I actually like. However the staff were all very sweet. Dr clemmons was precious as all get out and very caring. She helped recommend a few things for my dry eyes. And for the first time in my entire life I found a pair of glasses that I actually love!! I go back in a month for my follow up with the dryness. Honestly I dont think I would want to go anywhere else after being here!
