20/20 Vision- Marion / Dr. Jane Herman

Update: Lowering my review to 1 star due to zero response from the owners and the fact that a fancy office doesn't excuse poor customer service and ethics. Very cozy and professional looking office. Dr Herman was very nice and thorough for my eye exam and contact lens fitting. I am nearsighted with astigmatism but my close vision suffers with proper distance correction. I've typically worn readers with my contacts but now several multi-focal lenses for astigmatism are available so we gave those a try. She warned me that some people have problems adjusting to them. Unfortunately the positives ended there. I'm apparently one of those people. I wanted to give the other choices a try but they only have one of the three options that I know of available in trials and I'm not going to spend $$$ on lenses that may or may not work for me. Come to find out, they let their contract expire with Coopervision and could not get trials with them. Not a good thing to do to your clients. The office staff was quite dismissive when I would call and never asked me to come back in to check my fit or to explore any other options. All I got was "give them more time" except as more time went on, they only got worse. They were extremely difficult to put in and were very uncomfortable. I was using drops constantly and still using readers to even see my phone screen. They said I could go somewhere else where they might be able to get trials. But I really didn't want to have to pay someone else for another exam who may or may not have access to trials. I really didn't want to spend more time and money while not being able to see properly so on my last call I asked if Dr Herman had written a prescription for regular lenses which she hadn't. They called back in a day or two wanting to email my script to me without the multi-focal option. Again no offer to recheck my fitting, no offer of trials or suggestions. Just "here's your script for lenses you've worn before". I essentially got dumped for not liking the ONE lens she had me try. You'd think they'd want to foster a good relationship considering they told me at one point that it costs a lot of money to run a practice and they don't make much money on exams, only when you order contacts with them. Interesting priorities. I can't say to avoid them but I would certainly think twice.

Dr. Herman does an amazing job with all my children especially my autistic daughter! she is very patient kind and it is so appreciated. I also want to say that Pat who does the contact fittings in the office is amazing! you can tell that she is so experienced and loves what she does. I can't thank this entire office enough for taking care of my family every year !

Recommend 20/20. I have been seeing Dr. Herman for many years. Always friendly and professional and really keeps my changin vision needs dialed in. I like that I am given my prescriptions so that I have the freedom of ordering through another source but I always just have them order my contacts.

Dr Herman has been my optometrist for at least 20 years if not longer, she and her staff have always been so kind and helpful...I completely trust her. This past October after cataract surgery I was in lots of pain, she discovered the scratch on my cornea and provided me the relief I needed until it healed. Then the cornea became swollen (filled w/fluid). SHE was the one who solved that problem as well...now I'm seeing clearly out of that eye like she said I would...took about about a week.. she's the greatest and Pat, as well for working me in to see her. Both we so encouraging when I thought I might not see well again. Can't say enough good things about both of them and how they care for their patients. JoAnn Pillatsch

Dr. Herman is an excellent eye doctor. Very patient, informative and works well with children. As well she has a wonderful friendly staff working with her. I highly recommend 20/20 Vision for your eye care needs.

I was so happy when I learned that Dr. Herman had opened her own practice. I believe she is a wonderful optometrist and will always get my business. Her staff is very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Hermann has been my eye doctor for many years. I would never consider another eye doctor. Has always given me perfect vision.

The staff is amazing! Beautifully done new building! And they make you feel at home! Great place for your eye Care needs!
