I would have given this office zero stars if that were possible. I went in to be fitted for bifocals (not my first pair, but my first in several years). The experience was poor from the start. There was ice on the ramp, making entry extremely difficult. My husband had to borrow their shovel to clear a path, and no one from the office offered assistance. At the time, I was also using a scooter due to a broken foot. The exam itself was routine. However, when it came time to order lenses, I selected the option that would provide the maximum bifocal viewing area--an additional $300 upgrade. Shortly after I returned home, the office called to say they had forgotten to measure for the bifocal, requiring me to return the same day. This was both frustrating and exhausting given the icy conditions and my mobility challenges. When I mentioned this, the staff casually said they could have come to my car--something they failed to offer before I made the trip twice. When my bifocals arrived, they were handed to me without adjustment or instruction. I had several questions, but the staff member simply told me to wear them for a few weeks and I would "get used to them." Unfortunately, I could not wear them, and because of my medical situation, I requested to leave them at the office until I healed, so that the warranty would not lapse while unused. Later, after requesting to speak to the doctor by phone but was refused, I followed up in person after scheduling another appointment. Dr. Hyndman adjusted them but ultimately told me that "my face isn't built for bifocals," that "not everyone can wear no-line lenses," and even that "my head isn't formed right" and "my eyes sit too far back in my head" for glasses to fit properly. This explanation was not only unprofessional, but also contradicted my past experience--since I had previously worn no-line bifocals without issue. Both my current and former eye doctors have since confirmed they have never heard of such reasoning. Despite the glasses being under warranty at the time of our discussions, Dr. Hyndman refused a refund. He offered instead to make lined bifocals, but that is not what I paid for, nor what I wanted. To this day, I am left with an expensive pair of glasses I cannot wear and no resolution. Based on my experience--poor customer service, lack of accountability, and refusal to stand behind their product--I cannot recommend this office.

It's astonishing that the office manager, Natalie, would respond to my wife's honest review by defending unprofessional behavior with both incorrect and contradictory information. So I'm leaving my own review to clarify the facts.. 1. My exam was only to get contacts, had I been told I was eligible to purchase contacts without needing a new exam yet I would not have scheduled an exam at all. 2. We both work for a very small family practice as well, and we don't charge our patients fees associated with cancellations, no shows, reschedules, or to be seen. Citing this is only trying to justify charging patients extra money in any way you can find to do so. It's not necessary, it's "up to the discretion of the manager", as your paperwork states. 3. The paper I signed for the no show / cancellation policy was given to me to sign as soon as I walked in the door, I didn't even get to read it until after I'd been shown where to sign, and then only after I took an extra paper off of a desk to look over because the paper I signed was immediately taken back from me. I have a copy of the exact paper I signed that does not say anywhere on it that the fee is not refundable as we were told on the phone, and that the payment or waiving of the fee is at the discretion of management, which means it IS refundable, you've simply chosen not to, and what kind of fee paid to a business is "not refundable"? If we had a patient pay for ANYTHING that we for whatever reason couldn't refund back to their card we would ask do you A) want cash back or B) would you like us to write a check. I also was not allowed to order contacts without paying the $25 fee, as it was a lump sum total put on my card without even distinguishing between the fee I was charged and the cost of the contacts (which were an exorbitant 57% more expensive than the next two offices I checked on the price of the same contacts at) and didn't know until after paying it that the fee isn't due at the time you cancel an appointment but rather before the date of your next appointment. When I asked for clarification on this from the front office staff they agreed that i was reading the verbiage correctly and told me that the $25 would be refunded back to my card. 4. The exam fee I was quoted on the phone was $85, NOT $40, if it was $40 I probably would have been seen anyway. That price is a blatant lie either from your or from the office staff I initially spoke with. However, spending an extra $85 to order my contacts when I could simply order them without paying $85 was unnecessary, so I opted to simply not be seen and order the contacts instead, which was at no time communicated to me as an option before I arrived at the office, and which the girl working the front desk didn't even want to give me as an option that I had to pretty much get them to admit I was even able to do.

I have been to a couple different eye doctors in the area, but Dr. Ford took the time to help me focus on finding a pair of contacts that will actually work for me. Her very first suggestion I try turned out to be a perfect fit! Dr. Ford genuinely cares about her patients and their long term eye health. She took the time to explain everything we were looking at on the screen to me during my appointment. Highly recommend this office if you're looking for quality, personalized care with great overall staff!

I have been going to Dr. Hyndman for years. You couldn't ask for a better eye doctor! He was very professional, yet, down to earth. I was seen by his daughter, Dr. Bethany Ford, at my last eye exam, and was extremely impressed with her as well! You could not ask for better eye doctors than these 2 (& the staff was GREAT!) 5 stars from me!!!
