Excellent service. We spent 30 minutes talking about my vision and lifestyle needs to help decide what type of glasses would be best. Amazingly patient. The glasses were perfect, WileyX with transition and readers in the lower part of the glasses. The prescription was spot on which is not always the case with others I've been to. Very very happy!

Let me begin by saying that, after the absolute worst visit to an optometrist I've ever experienced, I will never trust another's opinion. My first ever appointment here....Mislead from the very start... and the end result with me sitting in my primary doctor's office. I went in for an annual exam and a new set of glasses. I've got one of the best vision insurance plans on the market, which covers everything from glasses to contact lenses, with no out of pocket costs. After standing in a crowded waiting room without anywhere for patients to sit... waiting to be examined... I was finally called to the exam room. I was asked to fill out a simple questionnaire about my medical history, but absolutely nothing at all about potential fees for the services that i requested. In all past visits, both my primary and secondary insurance plans covered all costs in a 12 month period. After being examined, I expressed an interest in contact lenses. I've never worn them before, and had no idea how to use them. The optometrist says 'sure, I'll be right back'. She comes back in the room with a 'sample kit' for basic contact lenses in my prescription... asks me if I would like to try them out for a week.... Assuring me that if I didn't like them... no problem. She advised me that I would be getting my regular glasses, and to wear the contacts while my new prescription was processed. She put the contacts in and says 'All Done... now you have to take them out and put them back in yourself before you leave', and I'm escorted to a different room. After a few attempts of getting them out and back in again, I began to feel irritation and sensitivity, which at the time thought was normal and was told it was perfectly normal. Then comes the scam. Upon checkout, I'm told that I owe $70 for a 'fitting'. I was confused. I explained to the receptionist that the contacts were trial samples given to me by the optometrist, and asked why I wasn't told about being charged for a trial kit. As it turns out.... They charge an independent fee that they refer to as a 'contact fitting', that my insurance doesn't cover. So I was given something for free to try, and was being charged for the optometrist putting them in my eyes. I was shocked.... And immediately felt deceived. After refusing to pay the 70$ 'fitting' fee, I was told by the owner of the business that I had to take the contacts out of my eyes, and give them back! Yes.... They wanted their 'trail sample' back in their possession before I was 'allowed to leave'. After scratching and severely irritating my eyes, while the Optometrist stood silent watching me with her hand out, I was finally able to get them out. Injured, humiliated, and embarrassed beyond belief, I left the office and immediately called my primary doctor to explain what happened. This really happened.... Every word. My advice to anyone looking for a new optometrist.... Don't believe all the positive opinions you read. Some are bots, others are paid for their positive feedback. This place should not in business.... And their owners and doctors should have their licenses revoked. Don't get scammed.... Stay away from here.

The doctor here is widely regarded as the best eye doctor in Belle Chasse, and it's easy to see why--their expertise and thorough approach to eye care are unmatched, ensuring every concern is addressed with precision and care. The selection of eyewear is impressive, with a range of stylish frames to suit any taste. If any issue arises, rest assured they'll go above and beyond to make it right, no questions asked. I highly recommend Belle Chasse Optical to anyone in the area for all optical needs.

Staff is friendly. However, if the front desk makes a mistake & gives you an expired prescription, don't expect them to make it right. Not only did it cost a little more but now my daughter won't have contacts before she leaves for camp. Getting samples to hold her over wasn't an option either even though the mistake was on their end.

Dr. Nguyen and her staff are incredibly sweet, helpful, and informative! I live in the city now but still come back here for eye needs bc they are that great!

Belle Chasse Optical is by far the best optometry office in New Orleans! I haven't seen Dr. Thuy in years & she is still such a bright light. I came in to see her for a glasses and contact exam and she was very thorough and helpful with inserting the contacts. Her office is so clean and she is so sweet! The exam was super fast and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. The assistants were also very nice & super helpful! Highly recommend Dr. Thuy Nguyen for your optical needs!

I had an eye exam and was fitted for contacts for the first time. The Doctor was very professional and very helpful. I then had to actually put them in for the first time. "Lee" was very helpful besides Calling me " baby and telling me to hurry up ". Just kidding Lee! Lee was awesome. Thanks again.

Wife and I have been going here for a few years, always in and out, all questions answered and always a great staff and doctor. Everybody there takes time with you and you never feel like your being rushed. If you live in this area, I would very much recommend this fine professional group.
