Smart Eye Care

These folks are experts and generously warm in their approach with customers! From the minute I walked through the door, I was greeted by a human and her adorable pooch! She asked if I was okay with dogs, which is important. The medical assistant took me through all the screening/testing and explained as she went along. My eye doc is fabulous! He gives me all the info I need and plenty of time to ask questions if needed. Been with Smart Eye Care for years. For all the right reasons!

I've been coming here since I was a teenager and recommend to my family n friends to go to Smart's!!! The doctor and staff are always polite and explain everything you need to know. Keep up the good work Smart eye care!!!!!

I went in to have my glasses adjusted and was met by exceptionally friendly talented and helpful people.

My reason for such a low review revolves around the treatment of my 90 yr old mother in-law. First of all every time she receives reminders etc there is always a threat of a 50.00 charge for a no-show. I take issue with this because it's repeated over and over. I can understand having the policy and enforcing it but I don't understand why it's on every communication. If you have a problem patient take it up with them. I don't need to be threatened with every appointment. The other thing is my mother-in-law left a visual fields appointment in tears. She said the technician pushed her and yelled at her. She's not going back there.

I have been a patient of Smart Eye Care for several years. I moved to NH and changed to another practice in Portland, ME but now back in ME and with Smart Eye Care in Farmingdale, ME! I had an appointment yesterday, What a great experience! Everyone from the front office through the eye exam eye test, screening, and payment process was amazing! They were so friendly and professional, Explained everything and answered all my questions made some great suggestions. I was able to order my contacts and was invited to their Friday vendor promotional sale! I have found my forever, Optometrist group! If you are in need of contacts glasses or anything of this nature, I highly recommend you reach out to this office! They are amazing!

I had no drastic changes in vision. Last year, I got my script and it was messed up to the point that I quit wearing glasses after a few months. At first, I got progressives with slightly more power than my previous pair. I kept getting headaches and had them change to a single vision and a got separate pair elsewhere with their script for the computer screen. Still something was wrong. I kept getting headaches, blurry vision, and dizziness. I kept wondering if there is something seriously wrong with my eyes. Finally, last month I got a different doctor and a correct script, but they refused to acknowledge the mistake. My progressives probably would've worked to begin with, if the script was right. Now I am stuck with two pairs of glasses until my insurance coverage next year. Making a mistake is one thing, but their failure to own the mistake because I finally complained outside of their liability window is forcing me and my family to go elsewhere. I will drive 100 miles if I have to to get the right service.

There was too much waiting time to see the doctor. Instead of being sent back to waiting room after testing I had to sit in where people were trying on glasses. It was awkward.
