Be careful...the doctors here are excellent, but the tactics of the reception desk will lead you to believe that your basic eye exam is covered by insurance, only to learn once you are in the office that everyone in the building is a specialist and therefore your basic eye exam is going to cost you $200. Only look here if you need specialist services...if you need basic exams and checkups look elsewhere unless you want to be overcharged.

Dr. Sarah Miller provided excellent eye care with wonderful bedside manner. Genuinely cares about her patients. Very fortunate to have been seen by such a fantastic ophthalmologist.

new patient waited for more than an hour and 45 minutes. I went back for the second appointment and it was more than an hour and when I questioned the wait the front desk staff stated that I had only been waiting for an hour. I laughed asked for my co pay back and left. No one should be left sitting in a waiting room because they have double and triple booked the doctor. My time is just as valuable. I was told every glaucoma appointment is expected to last 2-3 hours not because of the exam or the testing but because of the doctor being over booked. Not acceptable for The Wilmer Eye institute or Johns Hopkins. I will find another provider than values their time as well as mine.

Customer service and information matters. Website and Google reads the clinic doesn't open until 8:30. Clinic makes an appointment with a customer for 8. Patient shows up at 8:15 because the clinic doesn't open until "8:30." They apologize for the "website being wrong" and state "it's been an issue for a while and happens all the time" but then won't let the customer keep same appointment (even though they were admittedly in the wrong). If they can't get their website and appointments right, then communicate with their patients that known website is wrong and then won't honor a patient's appointment when they were in the wrong, why would I want them to look at my eyes? Let's start the patient/doctor relationship on a good note. Thankfully I just need a routine eye exam and it's not an emergency! I'll be finding a different eye clinic to have my eyes checked out! Johns Hopkins, do better, your patients have busy lives and our health matters, our time is valuable to us and to be treated poorly from the beginning of the relationship is very disappointing.

Had Cataract surgery done by Doctor Prescott. She and her assistants were excellent. They were able to get me to relax so I was not so anxious about the surgery. The whole experience from the receptionists on was a very good experience . I had this surgery Done a few months ago and am doing very well today.

First time visit went very smooth - was very pleased that they were able to fit me in the next day when I called for an appointment. Upon arrival, I had minimal wait time, Dr. Chapman was very personable & knowledgeable, and office staff was very friendly and helpful with all new patient paperwork, insurance, and the completion of my MVA Eye exam. Would highly recommend.

Dr. Kuwera is an amazing doctor and always made my daughter feel comfortable. She has seen many physicians at Johns Hopkins for her eye and he is the absolute best. Easy to get a hold of, very responsive and wants to find answers. Highly recommend Dr. Kuwera for pediatric ophthalmology needs

It has been years since I went to the eye doctor. I have recently moved, and needed to find someone closer to where I live. I called Wilmer to schedule an appointment. The gentleman I spoke to was awesome. He was courteous, and worked with me to find an appointment that works with my crazy schedule. I arrived at Wilmer Bel Air and signed in. The lady at the front desk wasn't overly enthusiastic, but that's okay I understand (I have days like that too). I waited about twenty minutes before being called back. Dr. Lee came to get me himself. He apologized for the delay (to be honest, I didn't even notice there was a delay). He was so sweet! He put me at ease. I barely even flinched during the eye exam-- that includes the part where they put drops in your eyes to dilate your pupils! He even made funny little jokes too. The gentleman I spoke to when checking out was nice too! He was professional and walked me through the things my insurance covered. I decided to purchase my glasses from Wilmer (super convenient). The man showed me all of the glasses I could get for free through my insurance, and then went back to his desk. Of course I had my own little fashion show, trying on almost every pair of free glasses. I narrowed it down to two pairs. I awkwardly asked one of the ladies how I would go about purchasing them. She asked which pair I wanted. I told her that's where I needed her opinion. She helped me pick out the best pair for me and walked me through the whole process. I think I found my new eye doctor! Wilmer is great! Everyone was awesome. I'm happy I went. tl;dr-- I had a wonderful experience at Wilmer Bel Air. Everyone rocks, even the receptionist who seemed to be having a rough day.
