Allegan Eyecare

First let me say that apart from this last experience they would have gotten 5 stars. I took a few pair of previous frames to get the lenses updated. 2 of the 3 were updated with no issues and a good price. The third pair had to go back because the lenses weren't right. They texted that the lenses were in so I showed up and could see me frames in the box. They called me to the desk in the middle and within 45 seconds the girl helping me sat down and asked,"Do you have a 2nd frame like this at home?' I replied, "Um, no... why do you ask?" She showed me my frames, with 1 broken arm, just at the narrow part over the left ear. I was shocked. She apologized but I just sat there staring at my glasses that just a couple of minutes before was intact before it was handled. She stated,"I was straightening them and it broke" The glasses are Hugo Boss and have rubber arms. I picked up the intact arm and started bending it back and forth. "You would have had to use a lot of force to break these.. see?" She replied, "I didn't press that hard." (Oh really? How'd they break then?) she then added, "We can offer you half price off any frame in the store and we'll pay for the lenses..." I thought about it and replied, "So I'm supposed to pay more money because you broke my frames?!? I'll just superglue it and take them as is." She gave me the glasses in a case (but no cloth) and took my money (paid for the balance I owed - no discount though). That's why you get 2 stars.

Very nice place, the staff Is professional and pleasant. Its a small town place with that home town welcoming feel. The wait time for glasses is a little longer than most places.

Great place Highly Recommended! Me and the whole family had our eyes checked and what a great experience! If you need your eyes checked this is the place to go! Will go back for glasses and future visits!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The staff is so incredibly welcoming and nice. I was out of town and in a pinch for some contacts. They were so helpful and the service was so fast! Can't rate them highly enough. Thank you for saving my trip!!!!

I called recently for a glaucoma test for my boyfriend,told her he had an eye exam at warby parker just 3 days ago and yet they told me they can't do it without an eye exam first and that would be $130, even tho he just had one they refused said the dr couldn't do just the glaucoma test...called America's best and got him in for $30. I will not longer be using this eye Dr, scared to see how they charged my insurance for my exam

Went in for my 1st pair of glasses. I had no idea what to actually expect of a visit, outside the normal eye exam with your primary. So, a bit nervous. The girl that took me back, who was covered in tattoos, really set the tone of the whole place. By the end of the visit, I felt like I've known her for years. I normally don't divulge the meaning of a specific tattoo, but she made me feel so comfortable that I literally told a stranger why the number 7 is empowering to me. There's not even 7 people that know about it. Everyone was exceptional. I truly felt comfortable there & am excited to be able to see well again! They went over my options, did not try to convince me into spending a lot of money.

It warms my heart knowing there is a high quality, premium customer service eye doctor in town. I'm from Allegan and use to go through a chain eye care facility. Never again, I will always go to Allegan Eye Care. Dr. Hodge, Korin, Josh, and all the staff here are phenomenal. 20 out of 5 stars. If they had a little bell by the door for excellent service, it would be ringing all day !!!!
