Grand Rapids Ophthalmology

My contact order from Lenscrafters was declined because when they called GROphthalmology EGR office, they said my Doctor, Dr. Meador, declined the prescription. When asked by his office staff, the contact lens tech at this office said no one from Lenscrafters called them to verify my prescription. That cant be right bc Lenscrafters was specific in saying the Doctor declined the prescription. It turns out the phone number on the prescription is incorrect, per their office staff. She didnt know what the number on the prescription went to. When I called that number, its to a central GRO database for this large practice with yet another set of phone options to connect with. Its a mess. People at this office are nice. Dr is nice, but the backend service and processes are messed up. Im out over $300 for getting contacts that are the wrong prescription, trying to reorder via Lenscrafters and not getting approval from a system thats really messed up at GR Ophthalmology.

Grand Rapids Ophthalmology does NOT care about bad experiences their customers have. Each time they said to leave a message with one of the top people (Amy I believe) about a bad experience I had with one of their doctors, I never heard back. They never followed up, never wrote in my chart regarding the issue or wrote down my request to not be seen by that doctor again. Dr. Schultz made me so uncomfortable and acted so annoyed that my children were with me. If I asked to redo seeing a comparison he acted annoyed. When I asked a question about my previous script compared to what he was going to write me, he was annoyed and gave me a super short answer. I didn't understand his answer but felt uncomfortable to ask him to explain it more as I could tell he couldn't wait to be done. He had such an attitude and made me feel uncomfortable trying to make sure my results were accurate. Our presence irritated him. Between him and the head lady not returning multiple calls - Terrible way to treat customers. Now I have been stuck without perscription glasses for the majority of the year and have had many migraine headaches because I cannot process a bad script.

I've been coming to the Lakeshore Opticians (now part of Grand Rapids Ophthalmology) on Bagley in East Grand Rapids since I was a child. It was always premium Care and phenomenal customer service. I don't know what has happened since they were bought out but they are completely unreliable to be open when you want to purchase glasses. I had my eyes exam there and that service was great but I have tried four times since to go in and select frames. It doesn't matter if it's the middle of the day, 20 minutes before they're supposed to close, or even just a random Thursday. Incredibly frustrating.

Words cannot describe my experience here. The team here is amazing! Dr. K was supper accommodating to our last minute visit there. I was not expecting a follow up call on how my daughter was doing and he did just that. Thank you guys for caring for your patients, you dont see that everyday. Gives me some faith that there is still good people out there.

Dr. Schultz did an amazing job explaining everything in terminology that I was able to comprehend. The office I went to was super clean and well put together. I met with some of the most pleasant and considerate employees who I knew would take care of my needs. I would definitely recommend this office to any of my family/friends.

Dr Schultz is amazing. He gave everything to me in a straight up type of manner and I really appreciated it. Front desk staff is extremely friendly, personable, and patient. If you're looking for a new eye doctor look no further!

My appointment with Dr. Schultz was on time. I was seen immediately upon arrival and left understanding the medical issues about which I was concerned. Dr. Schultz took the time to provide clear information and instructions. The employees at this office are friendly and cheerful and it is evident they enjoy their work.

I was very impressed with Dr. Schultz taking the time to discuss my eye health and family history in detail. He went beyond simple yes/no answers providing the rationale behind his responses. In addition he took the time to discuss, in detail, multiple options for vision correction and the +/- of each.
