I have a unique set of eyeballs--severe myopia, astigmatism, cataract surgery at age 42--to say that eye care is monumentally important to me is an understatement. I recently moved to Duluth from out-of-state and have spent oodles of hours getting recommendations, reading reviews, and assessing every aspect of clinics between Duluth and the Cities. Finally, I chose NMEC Cloquet, which is relatively close, but also seemed like they could handle a weirdo patient such as myself. After my first yearly exam, I am beyond grateful I have found them. The team was so professional, understanding, and equipped to handle my myriad vision/eye issues. I don't know if any clinic in the elaborate history of my eyecare has ever made me feel more *seen* (yeah, pun intended). Shout out to Angie, Sara, Brittany, and Abbie for working with me, and an extra special acknowledgment to Dr. Narayan who, as I was in tears over her thorough and easy-to-understand interpretation of what my future care entails, agreed to be my official 'person' as I navigate the journey ahead.

The eye doctor here Christopher McDowell is great! Very thorough! Friendly! and fast exams. And the helpful staff are friendly as well! They have a wide variety of eyewear options. I personally just get the state insurance covered glasses and they have a decent selection it's not just a little box with 5-6 pairs like some other eyewear places, it's literally a separate wall of state covered glasses. Northern MN Eye care will always be my choice to go to for exams and glasses in the Cloquet/Duluth area.
