Eyecare Associates - Central City

Place is a joke! Went in over a year ago for check up and glasses. Was. Asked to pay $31. Upon walking in the door. Recieved an exam, referred for cataract surgery. Yery good surgeon, took 8 months to get both eyes done. In the meantime 3 months AFTER the initial exam, I start getting bills for $28. When asked, they said that was co-pay, so I asked what the $31 was for. No reply given. I was in for follow up exam after cataract surgeries, asked again about the billings and the $31.... question ignored. I was examed, but then told they did not make/sell actual glasses for Medicare patients. Now I have to make 90 mile trips to acquire eyeware so I can drive safely and have sharp focus!! Glasses delivered, and I can see better with them OFF than wearing them, even after the "break-in" period these folks told me about. Now I am in collections over the un explained $28.... I was silent until then, but this is untenable.... AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Drove over an hour after taking a full day off work for an appointment only to walk in and be told they don't take my insurance anymore. Did not receive any phone calls or messages other than confirming the appointment. Called the corporate office in York to try and file a complaint because I'm a single mom of two who can NOT afford to waste my time or money like this and she just kept saying they don't take my insurance. I get that, clearly not getting an appointment. My issue is allowing me to take time off work and drive this far to be told you've wasted my time by not communicating with me. The person on the phone in York did not care and would not let me talk to anyone else and told me to find someone else who takes my insurance. And as you can see below now in the response, they still do not care and have no interest in making it right and are justifying what happened by saying 'We do our best to do EXACTLY WHAT WE DID NOT DO FOR YOU'

Had an appointment 10-29-19 and was very pleased with the eye doctor and staff. Will definitely be a continued customer!
