Horrible experience, Doctor did not listen to my issue, wasted my time with another office visit just to bill my insurance yet again. Problem was not solved, I was told there following "protocol" and scheduled me for another visit with a different doctor. They check vision every time in each visit, although we were there for a stye problem.

Update review (2/15/2022): Just visited this facility today because my glasses needed to be fixed and Alex did a great job. I'm super thankful for SJEP! I highly recommend them! Just finished my regular eye exam today and it went really well. Dr Candice Tolud is excellent! All the staff are professional and friendly. I even got some glasses today! Alex did a great job helping me get the best pair and I'm super happy

Rude staff and extremely long wait. My exam took over two hours with no apology or explanation. The equipment looked outdated, and the rooms didn't feel clean or well-maintained. I'll be finding care elsewhere.

Dr Tran ignored his assistant and the "prism" software recommended dose of local anesthesia for my multiple chalazia excisions. His assistant said "4 cc of Lidocaine". Dr Tran responded " no, that should be more like 1cc". Needless to say, This was an extremely painful experience! You would think he would have injected more lidocaine after I told him that I felt everything. I had the surgery done by a different doctor and was told the recommended dose is 3-4cc. I did not feel any pain during the minor surgery with the other doctor.

This was my first time going to South Jersey Eye Physicians. I arrived 10 minutes early for my 3:40pm appt'. The 1st staff member I interacted was seated at the desk, and her attitude was snarky and not as helpful as it should have been. The 2nd person's wasn't much better. The 3rd however, was easy and professional to deal with. I was shuffled to multiple areas and not actually seen by Dr. Brown until around 5:22pm. The doctor spent between 5-8 minutes with me and it felt very rushed; it left me doubting that I got thorough care. When I was sent to the checkout area, I observed only 1 other patient, who shared that she was waiting on a prescription. It appeared I was the last person to be seen and with a wait period of over 1 hour and 40 minutes. It appears they either overbook, double-book and/or manage scheduling poorly. I hoped for a better experience, but based on the above, I would prefer to return to my previous doctor and endure the commute or look for a different provider.

I would give 0 starts if that was an option!! I arrived at 1220pm for a 1230pm appointment. I was checked in and taken back within 10 minutes. An MA took me to check my vision and get my eyes dilated. Then I went to the second waiting room by 1245. At 130pm I went to the front desk and asked how much longer the wait was. She Informed me that she didn't know but I was next. At 210 I went up for a second time and asked. She again told me I'm next. When I asked again how long she said she didn't know. At 220 I was brought into the room to wait for the doctor. At 230 I informed them I have been waiting for two hours and asked to see the doctor. No one came back to the room. I went to the front desk to speak with the office manager who was literally no help. She just informed me again I was next: I work in a doctor's office and never have I been so rude and showed such lack of common courtesy as this office. I understand things get busy, I am a health care provider but it's very simple to communicate the truth to the patients about a wait that is over 2 hours. I wasted my whole day there, had my eyes dilated for no reason and not one single person including the practice manager tried to have me get seen before asked for my copay back and walked out. Never ever go here unless you have all day to waste while people lie to you that your next!!!

Dr. Tran is very knowledgeable, but this practice needs significant improvement in the way that it is operated. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment and completed check-in on time. I was then taken back by a technician who performed two tests and then told me to have a seat, that they were waiting for one of Dr. Tran's rooms to open up. I ended up waiting an hour before going to the front desk to inquire about what was causing the delay. They informed me that the office was short staffed on technicians for the day. I am not clear how that would cause an hour-long delay to see the doctor. After I went to the front desk to inquire about the delay, I returned to my seat and was immediately called to see the doctor, who was now available. This struck me as odd, that the doctor was readily available after I had voiced my concerns. I then also asked the doctor what caused the delay, and he explained that it was due to prior patients potentially needing tests that they weren't anticipating, and those tests taking longer to complete. While this may be true, it is not acceptable to leave patients sitting for an hour without communicating that there is a delay. The 3 different explanations I received, and the lack of communication from the staff, led me to believe that the delays are an everyday occurrence at this office. It seems that the office books more patients than they are able to accommodate, which is not a sustainable way to run an office. It also demonstrates a disregard for the value of the patients' time - people who have other obligations and should not have to spend an hour and a half on a routine eye exam. I have been going to the eye doctor for a very long time, and this practice is operated much less efficiently than others.

I am very disappointed with this practice..will not be going back. Be careful of hidden charges..I received a bill for $60 after paying my $25 copay..I had discussed with the front desk and they totally misled me..saying I could get contact lens fitting every 2 years..now apparently I'm getting charged $60 for my glasses which no one mentioned..never going back here..Dr Tran is great but they definitely need new office staff..very misleading..
