Impeccable Expertise. Outstanding Customer Service. Event: vision exam at major NYC optometrist gave me faulty prescription twice. Near/far total blurs. Petite Optique has made my glasses for close to 20 yrs. They kindly offered me a vision exam with their optometrist. Result: perfect sharp vision near & far. So grateful for their expertise, concern, kindness. They're also some of the nicest people ever. Great professionals. Highly highly recommend them
Petite Optique is the finest eyewear boutique in New York City. Here, art, precision, and personal style seamlessly come together to create something extraordinary.
Ibragim is a master of his craft. His insight, patience, care, and honesty are unmatched. He has an incredible eye for detail and a deep understanding on what will not only fit your face but also express your personality. I've trusted him to help me choose my frames for many years--and I look forward to many more.
Lyudmila embodies the very spirit of Petite Optique. Her impeccable taste, creativity, and sense of style turn the process of choosing eye wear into an inspiring experience. And Igor's meticulous care in cutting and fitting each lens ensures that every pair of glasses looks perfect.
The team's ability to curate the most stunning frames--from timeless classics to avant-garde designs--is second to none. If you value quality, art, and expertise, Petite Optique is the place to go. And if you do not live in New York City, they will ship your frames to you.
Five (a million!) stars.
I absolutely adore Petite Optique! I've been coming here for years and have purchased over 20 pairs of glasses. The hardest part is always having to decide because their selection is unmatched anywhere in the city, so I usually leave with two. They carry exclusive collections and unique frames you can't find anywhere else. Whether you're looking for something classic, bold, or totally unique, they always have styles that stand out.
The staff is amazing -- friendly, patient, and genuinely helpful in finding frames that fit both your face and your personality. They remember what styles I like, give honest feedback, and always manage to show me something new that I end up loving.
Fantastic! I have been going to this shop for almost a decade now. Their collection is different and beautiful. You are likely to get compliments. I sure have received many over the years. They source from brands who specialize in designing eye-glasses. I recommend without hesitation.
This is a family-run business and whether you are served by Igor or his wife or his daughter -- they intuitively know what fits your face, and your personality. And they are all about service! The two shops (the West Village location carrying slightly more conservative styles) have a range of one-of-a-kind frames, and in my 20 years of going there, they have never missed. Also, being all about service, they go the distance to accommodate you. Wherever I go, people ask where I got my glasses. I always say, La Petite Optique!
The most unique optical studio ever!! I fly in and bring friend from the lovely island of St Croix to purchase the most amazing eyewear one can find!
The service is off the charts. It's truly a one of a kind experience
Brought in a pair of frames I had bought during my trip to NY to have lenses added, paid around $370 (don't have the exact number on me) for single vision polycarbonate lenses. I went to Petite Optique because I read they have one day lenses. This turned out to not be the case, which was OK, I continued with the purchase and they shipped out the glasses to me. A few months after using the frames, I noticed a crack on my left lens. I sent them an email and they replaced them, no questions asked. They did mention that the polycarbonate lenses do not have a warranty when I told them about the crack, they still replaced the broken lens and even the unbroken one. A few months later, I see yet another crack in the same exact spot that there was a crack before. I understand mistakes happen with lenses, but I can't imagine what I could have done to provoke a crack in the same exact spot on my glasses after just a few wears.
This time, they would not cover the lenses. They did offer to do the lenses in a nicer material, for the same price as my polycarbonate ones. I do want to note that everyone has been very kind and helpful throughout the process. It feels insane that I would be expected to cover the cost of lenses that are breaking in the same spot, and not from misuse.
The two stars is for the lack of warranty on their single vision, polycarbonate lenses, and the price being quite a bit higher than other places for polycarbonate frames. For what they charged, I could have got a much nicer material to begin with somewhere else, places that also would have offered a warranty.
I hate to leave a bad review, the folks here are genuinely kind, but I think people should be aware of the lack of warranty on their single vision polycarbonate lenses. I've now wasted upwards of $300 dollars on lenses that can't withstand extremely careful and casual use. I'm now getting the lenses replaced by a local optician, with nicer materials, for $100 less than what was charged to me for the polycarbonate. It sucks losing money on this but you live and you learn. Still, two stars for their incredible selection of frames, friendly demeanor and attempt to fix the issue by replacing the lenses. I do not think the folks at Petite Optique are malicious, I just think no warranty on overpriced lenses is something people should be aware of. First photo is from the first crack, second one is from the second crack.

I've been coming here for years, and I can't recommend this place enough. The doctor is excellent--thorough, patient, and always takes the time to explain everything clearly. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the selection of frames is amazing. They always have such unique, stylish options you don't see anywhere else. It's a great mix of professional care and personalized style--definitely the best eyewear experience in the city.
