Rhinebeck Eye Care, now part of MyEyeDr.

The optometrist I saw was thoughtful and collaborative, and I appreciated the actual exam. Unfortunately, the follow-up and contact lens ordering process has been consistently frustrating. Since December, I've made multiple calls trying to order contact lenses. I was clear that I wanted 14-day Acuvue lenses, but repeatedly ran into confusion between daily and 14-day options. Important details weren't explained clearly, and I was told several times that someone would call me back, which often didn't happen. I frequently had to call again just to get basic clarification. I was also given expired trial lenses and solution, some by several years. While not dangerous on its own, it added to my loss of confidence given the other issues. What finally prompted this review was today's experience. I called to ask if there was anything available to tide me over while waiting for my new lenses and was told to come by. I went out of my way to drive over, only to be told they didn't have anything in my prescription. That trip felt unnecessary and avoidable with better communication. I don't think anyone was intentionally unhelpful, but the overall experience felt disorganized and dismissive of my time. I've decided to continue my care elsewhere.

Had an appt and an issue with my insurance as they didn't cover the portion of my eye exam until May. I said I can pay out of pocket but that I needed to be seen for a diabetic eye exam. They asked for my regular insurance, I provided it. They said I could come. I took the day off at work for this and today someone called me again to tell me I need to cancel my appt bc my insurance doesn't cover the exam until May. I'm like we been through this. I know, I can pay?! I need new glasses. And she went on and on about how is best I cancelled it. Didn't offer to reschedule didn't ask me/believe me I could pay out of pocket. Didn't follow up after I said Is for a diabetic eye exam. Agree with other reviewers that the phone person is rude and apparently not taking new clients.

I'd been going to a chain eye doctor's office since I was a child. When I went to Rhinebeck Eyecare I was pleased with the experience. The appointment was thorough and addressed concerns I thought I just had to live with - making sure I understood everything. The staff is friendly and the selection of frames is great. I also appreciated that I was able to try my lenses before buying them - making sure they were right for me. I now take my kids to this office as well.

I was traveling through Rhinebeck and needed an emergency repair on my glasses frame. I was seen promptly, and the repair was made in short order. I was grateful to find a friendly and competent shop to solve my issue.

My entire experience with Rhinebeck Eye Care was positive, comfortable and informative. Scheduling an appointment was easy, the staff at the front desk made check in easy, and Dr. Mike Madigan was extremely informative and helpful. The whole process was quick, but certainly not rushed. Happy to find an eye dr. I'm confident going to and has my best interest at heart.

After reading countless reviews of eye doctors throughout the area, I selected this practice. I called to book an appointment and left a message. I waited a week, called again, and left another message. Three weeks later, I've yet to hear back. Supposedly this place has amazing customer service. Perhaps if one is an existing patient that is the case, but if you're attempting to become a new patient, the customer service is nonexistent.

Dr Madigan is an excellent eye doctor!! Takes the proper amount of time, very thorough, answers all my questions!! Great staff as well!! Highly recommend!!
