This was a very disappointing visit. My family and I have been going to Eye Associates/Cherry Hill for about 10 years but this time it was different. I went in for my regular annual visit , which was changed to a medical visit. Unfortunately, it wasn't explained to me until I was checking out and have to dispute some of the verbiage on my after visit summary. I was told when I checked in that my co-payment is $0. At check out, I was informed that my co-payment is now $50.00. I was so surprised that I couldn't even argue, how can this be changed from $0 to $50 without prior notice? Why was I not informed about this price change during my treatment? Is this how you treat your patients? I am very upset and disappointed and hope that doesn't happen to anyone else. It definitely affects my trust and credibility for the practice. I think each patient deserves to be treated with respect and should be obliged to a clear and open communication regarding treatment and cost. This was definitely a very poor customer service.

Check-in was crazy. Someone else had the same last name, so they were checked in but we weren't. I noticed people who checked in after us were being called to the back. There are several doctors, so I figured it was for the other ones. But after an hour went by I said something to the ladies at the desk. They apologized. The doctor was great with my 5 year old. I hope next time it doesn't take 2 hours. I will go back just for the doctor.

After reading through the reviews, I have to say I'm kind of surprised about the experiences of all of the one star reviews. I developed a stye in my eye, so I called them to take a look. The receptionist who answered scheduled me in for later that day. It didn't experience any issues with no one answering or long waiting times. If anything, my visits were very promptly made. I was scheduled for a follow up visit the following week. Everything went smoothly there too. I have two more appointments this week with them since I will be needing an optician for my vision and also because I was diagnosed in my first visit with MGD.
Nothing but good things to say about this practice. My experience was honestly nothing like the one-star reviews I have read about this place.

Dr. Ricchiuti is great. My family has gone to him for years. He diagnosed a rare ocular disease in my daughter which was treated early.

Doctors, nurses and assistants are pleasant, efficient and highly competent. Front desk staff in recent years seem to be stressed and tense across the board, and we've often had oddly prickly interactions with them. We've had very good care from the eye doctors in this practice for years, and that's why we keep going. The automated text/phone reminder system is a major annoyance--it will send multiple messages per day, often even after you've scheduled an appointment, filling up your voicemail and apps. Front desk staff shrugs and says there's nothing they can do. Anybody out there paying attention?

My husband & I sure do miss Dr. Barnard Kaplan who founded this practice! It was efficiently run when he headed it up. Now even though some of the doctors are good, the customer service is so bad we are looking into changing eye doctors. They rarely answer the phone & you end up holding for 20 minutes only to get a voicemail. They do not return phone calls even when you are responding to them because they left you a message & asked you to call back! I used to live in Cherry Hill & was a patient of Dr. Kaplan's for decades! Even after I married & moved to central New Jersey my husband & I continued to travel an hour & a half each way to see him because he was THE BEST! It's truly a shame what has happened to this practice! They don't care about or respond to their patients the way Dr. Kaplan did!

After coming to this office for 15+ years they decided to randomly charge me $100 for a contact fitting that I didn't even get simply because it had been 3 years since my last visit. I've gone way longer than that without an eye checkup and was never charged for it. I only go for an eye checkup when I feel my vision has changed. My contact lense size is still the exact same. So they saw disabled widowed mom, unemployed and Medicaid on my chart and after knowing me for 15 years decided to charge me $100 randomly. I was told when I scheduled the appointment that it's covered by my insurance, like always....Now I can't even afford to replace my eyeglasses lenses which is the entire reason I went for a check up. Shame on you. I left in tears. I've never felt so taken advantage of in my entire life. After 15 years I will never go back to dr dr richiutti ever again

I thought the staff was pleasant and professional. I had no wait time before undergoing the triage by the staff or meeting with Dr. Tyson.
I usually have my appointments at the Blackwood office. However, this appointment was more convenient for me. I am concerned however, that I telephoned the CH office six times to seek information exactly where the office is located and there was no answer at the office. Fortunately, because I am somewhat familiar with the area and was able to use my navigation system on my telephone to fine the location. When I mentioned this to the CH staff, they advised that the system designated to take calls for the various sights is located at the Vineland location. I would encourage a better communication system since there is more than one service location.
