Was a wonderful experience Dr.Johnson was excellent. She explained everything to me thoroughly and was incredibly nice. I went to her after a couple bad eye exam experiences elsewhere and was blown away at the difference in care! Highly recommend the Eyesmith and will be using her in the future from now on!

I have never had a more comprehensive and thoughtful exam. Dr. Johnson is absolutely fantastic! Great personality and brilliance combined in one. I was very impressed and so happy I switched from my previous provider. Office is high tech and comfortable as well. Great eyeglass selection.

If you are looking for an A-MAZING experience during your eye exam, Eye Smith in Blowing Rock is THE PLACE to visit! Dr Maria Johnson taught me more about my eyes in one visit than I ever knew. There is not a waiting room with 20 chairs (in the front OR the back ) because she treats you like a person and not a number. I've hesitated for years to find a new office, because, well, it's just easier to keep going to the same place even if it doesn't check all the boxes, or put off going at all. I'm so glad I gave it a shot. My exam was not rushed, which relieved a ton of anxiety I have when finding my prescription. She brought out the drops with dye and when I told her I often pass out from it, she reassured me that can be a common response (why haven't all the other eye docs told me that!?) and whipped out an alternative option. And the cherry on top was that she didn't pressure me with a sales pitch at the end. I'll never go anywhere else again! Call them now, you won't be disappointed.

I was amazed today. I recently fractured my kneecap and unable to walk over the pile of snow out front. My glasses really needed to be adjusted. The doctor, herself, came to the car to fit my glasses, went back in to adjust and brought them back out to me. What great attention to someone she didn't even know. I can assure you she will get to know me well as I intend to frequent her business! I urge you to do the same.

This was definitely the best experience I've ever had with an eye appointment. Dr. Johnson did a very thorough examination, explained everything and answered all of my questions. Her staff is amazing as well. Her assistant helped me find the perfect pair of glasses. They have a great selection of frames and options, and the office is very nice. I have finally found my forever eye doctor, and I very highly recommend!!

I'm so grateful for Dr. Maria. She has helped to restore my eyes. She and her staff are so helpful. We always feel so welcomed.

So thrilled to find a caring, knowledgeable optometrist here in Blowing Rock! No ophthalmologist in Boone would see me for over a month and Dr Johnson worked me in within 24 hours. Diagnosed my eye issue, prescribed meds and took the time to explain contributing factors and what I needed to do to resolve this issue. Our village is so fortunate to have her expertise in our back yard! [Nice frames, too.]

Dr Johnson is an amazing doctor. I never feel rushed during my examination. I ask a lot of questions and she answers them thoroughly and patiently. The atmosphere in her office feels like I am visiting with friends, but her professionalism reminds me why I'm there!
