My appointment was scheduled for 3:40, but I wasn't seen until 4:50, which was somewhat frustrating. However, the tech who helped me completely turned the experience around. She was amazing--so nice, funny, patient, and thorough. She didn't rush me at all, answered every question I had, helped me get my contacts ordered, and explained my new glasses prescription clearly. I wish I could remember her name because she absolutely deserves recognition for taking such great care of me, especially when it was already time for her to go home. Despite the long wait, her service was outstanding.
This office helped me with glasses and sunglasses last year. Very friendly and helpful! So I talked my wife into going here. She arrived before her appointment time and waited for over an hour. She left, frustrated. I talked her into giving them another chance since I liked them. She made us each an appointment and we arrived on time. Sat there for an hour! Finally I got called back. I asked the young lady if they always overbook and make people wait an hour. She immediately got an attitude and stated that she was doing what she was told to do. When I told her that wasn't an answer, she doubled down and spoke to me very rudely. I'd had enough and decided to take our business elsewhere. If you value your time, you should do the same!
Khristina, Dr Fitzgerald and the staff at MyEye Dr in Cape Carteret were amazing! Everyone was pleasant and all of my eye care concerns were answered in a way I could understand. Khristina was so helpful and kind during my exams. I don't feel all that bad about going to the eye doctor anymore and I will certainly keep going back for all my families eye care needs. Thanks again Khristina for all your help!!!
I was initially concerned when I learned this office is telehealth appointments, however, I ended up not minding it at all. Mindie was in the room with me the whole time, explaining things in great detail (I was nervous) & it didn't bother me the doctor was on the screen. Mindie was super kind, personable & helpful. She helped me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. I will be going back in a few weeks & asking for her when I pick out my frames! Highly recommend visiting this office.
Very Disappointed! I am not happy with this experience at all. I drove roughly an hour each way to make my appointment, arrived early, filled out all the paperwork, and waited. My appointment time came and went with no update. After waiting about 45 minutes, I asked what was going on and was told, "Well, it's Friday -- doctors are hard to get ahold of on Fridays, a lot of them take off. It might be another 30 minutes or more before we can get you in."
Really? Then why schedule the appointment if no doctor is available? To make matters worse, I was told that the best time to make an appointment is "first thing in the morning or right after lunch." That's not helpful after I already rearranged my day, drove two hours round trip, and sat waiting with no communication.
And mind you -- this location offers telehealth appointments. Finding a doctor shouldn't have been a problem.
This kind of scheduling and disregard for patients' time is unacceptable. If there aren't enough doctors available, appointments shouldn't be booked.
My visit was pleasant from the beginning of my exam to the end!! Each doctor and licensed optometrist (staff member) took their time with me and made sure everything was thoroughly addressed! Best Eye center hands down!! I HIGHLY recommend!
First time I talked with them I was only purchasing contacts, when I needed a new prescription I made an appointment, day of service they tried to charge over 200 and my insurance has a $15 copay for exams. They did not disclose the extra plus charge plus charge until I was there. Then they wanted to use my allotment for contacts to pay for the service that was supposed to be covered. I was very clear I wear contacts and by me buying them there before, they knew that! Disceptove!
They pushed back my original appointment time by 20 minutes. Arrived on time at 1020, I had to walk out after waiting an hour without being seen. If you have a busy schedule or just value your time, I would not recommend this business.
