Dr.Chen the Optometrist at Elmira Visionworks was great. He took the time to listen to my problem, conduct a thorough eye exam, explain what he observed, made recommendations and offered me options. He was able to restore my left eye vision from 20/200 to 20/40 with contact lens. It was the happiest day in 6 weeks. Now I can drive and get my independence back!

It was so easy to make the appointment online , they sent reminders to my phone so I wouldn't forget my appointment. I came early and they took me right in with no wait. The doctor was very nice and patient and asked if I had any questions or concerns, I am truly grateful and appreciate everyone in the store kindness they showed me . This was one of the worst medical experiences I've ever had. The doctor spent less than five minutes with me and repeatedly said he could handle it because he has experience, yet he never actually listened to my concerns. When I pointed out something I wanted him to check-especially because I have a family history of related issues-he dismissed it completely.
I left feeling like he saw me as someone just passing through rather than a patient he genuinely cared about. He made assumptions about me, and the way he spoke felt disrespectful and condescending. Every other provider I've seen in the care field takes the time to listen, but that was not the case here.
Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would strongly recommend avoiding this place.

The new patient paperwork was minimal, staff including the doctor was professional and friendly, I never felt rushed, frame options were good, and Felicia, the person that helped me with frame choice and my purchase was stellar - she was friendly, thorough, and took the time (at my request) to compare pricing with various features. Felicia's customer service was excellent. The pricing was also much better than my last glasses purchase at a different retailer. I highly recommend the Elmira/Horseheads Visionworks!
