Cincinnati Eye Institute

I got two conflicting messages about my appointment. On Sunday evening I got a notification that my appointment was changed- no phone, call no voicemail. I called during the week to check and confirm my appointment for the original time. I received a text message confirming my appointment would be at 8:00 a.m. I showed up, and no one was there. When the appointment was scheduled a year in advance, and I remember that when I came the first time, they showed up late and I was waiting in the waiting room for an hour before their office got going. This is not the office location to go to if you respect your time.

Felt unsafe and not warned about serious side-effects after eye dilation at my first eye exam ever. I feel obligated to share my experience since I was shocked about how the vision changes after the eyes are dilated. I am even more shocked and puzzled why I wasn't given any advance notice about it. I have perfect vision and no problems with eyes. I was referred by another doctor to check my eyes at the Cincinnati Eye Institute as a preventative measure. I should say everything was good until the end at the Maineville office of the Cincinnati Eye Institute. Neither doctor Martinez nor any of the nurses have given me any warning of what to expect after my eyes were dilated and checked. Everything was fine until I stepped out of the office and realized that I could not see, the sun was bright. I could barely find my car on the parking lot. I didn't see anything on my phone, it was one big blur. It was really really scary to say the least. Since I was not prepared for this I didn't have anyone else with me to drive, so I had to drive myself. This was the scariest driving experience in my life as everything was very blurry. I had no other choice but to focus on the road and keep driving. I ended up picking up my toddler from daycare and getting home safe, but I would not wish for anyone to go through this! Please come prepared and have another driver with you if you know that your eyes will be dilated. The regular eye exam could turn into a life threatening situation. I wish the doctor or the nurses would give any kind of explanation or warning of side-effects and expectations about this especially to people who do it for the first time in their lives. Be safe everyone!

My partner checked in exactly on time, as notated in the appointment email, and proceeded to wait for over an hour for her name to be called. Multiple people who had arrived after her were being called, so she went to the front desk (twice) to see if they had forgotten about her. She was assured that "there were only 2 people ahead of her and she will be called soon." Not the case, unfortunately. It took her leaving the office, coming outside to the car, and me (a male) going in there for her to get her appointment straightened out. ***2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES TOTAL WAIT TIME FOR A 20 MINUTE TEST***. I had the pleasure of being late to work, too. I'm sure the doctors are excellent, but I am not a fan of the "customer service" here. -Tom

My mother's purse was stolen from this location she left the "private" room for a minute came back and it was gone it doesn't take a genuineness to guess who could've done it

Best Doctor s I Know took very good care Of Me Both Dr Hater and Dr Henison ? Do not know if I spelled last names Correctly But I am happy with There work on me. I Am the Most Handsome 78yr. Old , People Say .

The staff is very efficient and helpful. Dr Hater is very good and clearly explains his findings. He has handled the cases of several family members with very successful results.

Felt very comfortable while in the whole eye facility. Staff was excellant and treated me very well. This was my first visit and I will continue to take care of my eye care there. I will tell people how Cincinnati Eye Institute is an excellent facility. Go Bucks

Dr Hater goes above and beyond when it comes to your vision. He has worked relentlessly on my eye issues and I'm so glad! My eyes are so much better!! I would refer him to anyone looking for an ophthalmologist.
