Janidlo Optometry

Dr Janidlo and prism glasses changed my life. I am someone who has suffered with migraines for most of my life, sees a neurologist, and does a lot of intense computer graphics and video for hours into the night. I have spent years and a lot of money trying to problem solve as to why I was miserable - from custom dental guards, Invisalign, glasses, meds, dr's, larger monitors. I learned about Binocular Vision Dysfunction (on TikTok) and was concerned it might be my problem, but that Dr was in CA. I learned that I needed specifically a Behavioral Neurological Optometrist and a regular eye Dr does not screen for this, despite my previous eye dr's telling me they did. I drove an hour and a half for the appt, she was able to see me that day I called. Dr Janidlo spent THREE hours with me. She watched me walk, sway, learned my sensory noise and light issues, and eventually put a makeshift pair of prism lenses on me. She gave me ear planes to take home. It was like everything that was visually loud became calm, I could see the texture details on the walls with such clarity. The tension in my face relaxed. I wasn't closing one eye anymore to focus or tilting my head. For over 40 years my eyes have not been aligned and were fighting each other hard to focus on the same thing. It's been about two months and I am now off most of my migraine meds, (I was taking 5) I don't have the tension in my face, neck and shoulders like I used to, and grieve that my younger self could have had this relief. All the meds I didn't have to take. You can have 20/20 and still have BVD. About a month after I got my new glasses I went back for a f/u, and Dr Janidlo adjusted my prisms and cut me new lenses on the spot. I am so incredibly grateful for this life changing experience and it was worth every single penny. If you are a migraine sufferer get checked out. If your child is not doing great in sports, school, or if you keep losing your place when you read, bump into walls, GET CARSICK, or are dizzy, give Dr Janidlo a call. You won't regret it. She also has BVD and genuinely cares that you get relief.
