This situation began on 10/2/25, when I had my eye exam here. Because my eyes were dilated, I did the best I could choosing glasses while my vision was impaired, which is important to note. After leaving the appointment, I nearly got into two accidents driving home because I could not see properly. I later learned I was supposed to be given protective shades after dilation, which I was not provided. This was concerning from a patient safety standpoint. I purchased the glasses that day for $300+ out of pocket, including an additional $40 insurance in case of scratches or damages. On 1/5/26, I returned because the glasses broke--a screw came loose, the arms fell off, and the frames were significantly bent. First visit to resolve the issue: To my surprise, no attempt was made to fix the frames. I was given a phone number to call, which later turned out to be incorrect. I was also told that if replacement frames were sent, the lenses could be swapped. Today, I returned twice. On the first visit, I brought frames I purchased myself on eBay to try to expedite the process. The secretary was polite and did attempt to help by popping the lenses out to check fit, but after determining they wouldn't work, I was again given a phone number--and the lenses were not even put back in. I called, followed instructions, and went to LensCrafters in Harrisburg (5). Although they did not sell me the frames and did not involve my insurance (Davis), they reinserted the lenses, fastened the arm, and straightened the frames for free. The technician took time to review my coverage and told me that since I paid for additional insurance, the original provider should either repair the broken hinge or replace the frames under the one-year warranty. Reluctantly, I returned again. Once more, I was told this was not their responsibility and that I would need to deal with my insurance. I explained that someone who never received a dollar from me--or my insurance--helped me in under five minutes, and that at minimum, that level of assistance could have been offered instead of sending me back and forth. While the staff was mostly polite, the lack of ownership, follow-through, and basic care over multiple visits was frustrating. When a business sells the frames, the insurance, and the service, some level of basic support and patient safety should be expected. I left peacefully--but extremely disappointed.

Absolutely abhorrent patient service. I called and told them my insurance, said I needed to figure out where it's being billed to because "They don't bill the insurance". So, I gathered all my info, called back and was told that they don't honor my insurance. Wasn't given a warning about them not working with certain insurances or anything. Would have been great not to waste my time as I already have an appointment somewhere else, but wanted my service to go to a private, smaller business. Guess I'll never step foot in here

I am from out of town and was looking for somewhere close to fix the arm on my eyeglasses, the receptionist was friendly and offered me a time to come and be seen. When i arrived she knew exactly who i was and the Doctor took care of my glasses in about 10 minutes, and even took the time to answer some of my questions. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

We attempted Eye Care Eye Wear in Middletown today, but unfortunately it was not a great experience. The receptionist is all over the place and anxious. She assumed I had incorrectly listed my daughter's primary doctor. When coming to "ask me", she stomped over, sighing and stated with attitude "you filled this for out for yourself. This is your primary doctor?" I told her no. That was in fact my daughter's primary doctor. I would NEVER recommend this eye doctor to anyone with small children. My daughter is NOT a shy kid, but this man had her so anxious and nervous she was scared to read the board. He would flick through the screens so fast & then would be visibly frustrated when she didn't read them all in a timely manner. Shes a 5 year old !! They confirmed they take kids, but they are very ignorant to how to treat one when they are a 5 year old patient. If they didn't want to accept a small child as a patient, they could have said no.

Great place for Eye Care. Love Dr Guss and Iris. Very personable and knowledgeable. I never have any issues at their facility. My entire family are patients there and have regular annual, and sometimes semi-annual, appointments for 13 years now.

This place has terrible customer service. If you can get someone on the phone (good luck) they come off rude and like they cannot be bothered **never a patient because i decided to go elsewhere because your rude customer service** wont stop me from leaving a review for other's to know what they are about to sign up for

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE. - DO NOT GO HERE - STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. Receptionist (who turned out to be office manager) is EXTREMELY RUDE. Owner did not seem to care when I brought the matter to his attention. I walked away and will patronize a practice that appreciates their customers.

best place to go when your eyes need help. I was having eye problems, I just couldn't see going to work anymore, they got me fixed up and now i am back to work. The girl that helps you with the glasses, is supper nice and pleasant to be around.
