An excellent hospital and they have given accute care to the patients. Consulting fees was just 100 only. Even for tests like ERG, Glaucoma etc, the investigation charges are lower than other hospitals.
Only problem is, there is no synchronisation between two departments. The doctors are highly appreciated and trying to take care of the patients to treat them on a single day whom visited for Retina and glaucoma treatment. But the lab staff were so adament and without knowing the patients illness and ( to go for two clinics) asked to wait for more than three hours for taking Retna HFA test alone. We entered at 7.30am and we left at 5pm after visiting both retina and Glaucoma. The doctors were having so patience to treat tge patient but the nursing staff were so lethargic. Request to give some importance to treat tge customer whom visiting for more than one department
My father had a cataract operation here, the process and procedure was simple and hustle free, the staff was so kind and thanks to all, now my father will be able to see the world better. Last but not least the way they are maintaining the garden was so so good.
Aravind Eye Hospital in Pondicherry is one of the most reliable places for eye care in the region. The hospital is known for its highly professional doctors, well-organized system, and affordable treatment options.
What I liked:
Expert doctors: The consultations are thorough, and the doctors explain your condition clearly without rushing.
Smooth process: The entire flow--from registration, tests, consultation to pharmacy--is efficient. Even when the hospital is crowded, the system moves fast.
Modern equipment: They use advanced machines for eye scans and diagnosis.
Affordable care: Compared to many private hospitals, the costs here are very reasonable without compromising quality.
Clean environment: The hospital is well-maintained and hygienic.
What could be better:
Waiting time can be long during peak hours because of the large number of patients.
Overall: Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry is a trusted, professional, and cost-effective place for eye treatment. Whether it's a general eye check-up, cataract surgery, or specialised care, the service quality is excellent. Highly recommended.
The hospital services are good, but I was disappointed with one issue. The hospital places stickers for vulnerable patients such as elderly people, but they are not given immediate attention in the OP. We had to wait like regular patients.
I would like to raise a concern regarding the handling of vulnerable patients in the hospital. I asked the nurse whether patients marked as "vulnerable" should receive immediate attention. However, the nurse informed me that even if the vulnerable patient stickers are placed, everyone still has to go and wait.
I request the hospital administration to kindly clarify the purpose of marking patients as vulnerable if they are not given priority or immediate attention. I hope this matter will be looked into and necessary action will be taken.
While the hospital facilities are well-maintained, the patient-to-doctor ratio is extremely poor. Expecting one doctor to attend to 100 patients is unreasonable, as it results in a full day being wasted even for those using paid services. I hope you can improve your scheduling to respect your patients' time.
I visited the hospital today. Overall, the care was excellent. The food court, nursing care, and all services were very good and satisfactory. The garden gave a feeling of hope. There were also many herbal plants and trees. I had a very good experience
I feel very happy to take treatment to my mother here because of the services given by the doctors, nurses and other employees. Their approach to each patient is very kind and very nice. Pls continue your service as a long time. Hats of to Aravind eye hospital. Thank you.
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the food court and canteen at Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry. I honestly don't understand what is happening here. GST for food is only 5%, then why are the food prices so high? What is the reason for this? How is this fair?
Patients come here for treatment, and attenders also depend on the hospital food. But the food provided is not suitable for either of them. The quantity is very less, the price is too high, and the quality is not at all acceptable.
Even the basic items are not good. Buttermilk doesn't even taste or look like buttermilk. Rasam is the same -- completely diluted and watery. And coffee, tea, and milk are not even served hot. What kind of service is this in a hospital where people need proper, hygienic, warm food?
Charging 30 for a tiny uthappam is unbelievable. The portion is so small that even a young child will still be hungry. How can this be enough for adults, especially patients who need strength and nutrition?
Aravind Eye Hospital is known for affordable and excellent clinical services. But the food court is the exact opposite -- overpriced, low quantity, poor quality, and not patient-friendly at all. Many low- and middle-income families come here, and this canteen pricing is putting a huge burden on them.
Your medical service is excellent, but the food court and canteen need MAJOR changes immediately. Prices must be reduced, quantity must be increased, and quality must be improved. Patients and attenders deserve proper food, not this.
I hope you take this seriously and fix these issues without delay.
