I was called back early and was out within 20 minutes of my actual appointment time. Everyone was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The doctors always seem a 'little' rushed but that is normal. Time with him was probably less than five minutes but he explained everything thoroughly and was pleasant to deal with.
Really great experience. Both eyes have an IOL. Not going to lie, it took 3 years to get the courage to have the operations but they couldn't have gone smoother. Super professional and calming experience actually. My eyesight was so bad that the new lenses were a shocking new level of clarity.
I was referred to Sweeney Eye Associates by my eye doctor for cataract surgery. I've been to one appointment which was lengthy (3 to 4 hours) only to learn that I have to have cardiac clearance in order to schedule my surgery. I went to my cardiologist who signed the form I was given for the clearance. Today I learn that we still can't schedule the surgery because they need a copy of the cardiologist visit. In fairness it does say that on the form but neither I nor my cardiologist saw that. So I'm now working on that.
My experience in dealing with the office staff is they are rude and not helpful at all. They appear to have no compassion regarding their patient's circumstances. I have been jumping through hoops to satisfy all of their demands and I still do not have surgery scheduled. I would like to go elsewhere but I've had the one lengthy appointment and I don't want to have to go through that again.
I would never recommend Sweeney for anything.
Please don't go to this place! I had a very disappointing experience at Sweeney Eye Care. I called ahead and asked if they could provide prescriptions for both eyeglasses and contact lenses, and I was told yes and given an appointment.
When I arrived, they performed an eyeglasses exam, but when I asked about the contact lens check, I was told that it could not be done. I was informed only after my appointment that contact lens prescriptions are not available for new patients, despite me clearly stating my needs in advance.
This wasted over 1.5 hours of my time, and in the end, I left without the services I came for. Communication and scheduling were very poor, and I would not recommend this office for anyone needing both eyeglasses and contact lens prescriptions.
Doctor Sweeney is good and did a good job on the cataract surgery. But the service of the other staff and nurses in the office was very bad. There is no compassion for the patient after the surgery. They were not friendly . It seems like just doing surgery for profit and not caring for the patient.
The staff in the office are doing a very bad job. I did not get the FMLA paperwork filled out on time which resulted in my SHORT TERM INSURANCE payment not being received even after trying to follow up many times.
No where in America is there such a poor hospital service. Shame!!!!
My husband and I met Dr Anwar today for his post-op following his recent cataract surgeries. Dr Anwar listened and was very friendly, kind and took the time to address all of our questions. This was a pleasant visit.
I had cataract surgery in April 2025. Dr. Sweeney and staff including the surgery center were outstanding, the whole process was non eventful. I have an observation of the lens choice after using these new lenses for nine months.
I have astigmatism and have worn glasses with progressive lenses for 69 years. With MA insurance I was offered lens that are similar to my current eyes for replacement lens. The medicare lens would have cost me around $1,000 out of pocket by the time I paid the surgery center and the referring optical doctor. I would still wear corrective glasses. I decided to go with the $6,000 upgrade to lenses that would correct my astigmatism, but would need reading glasses. An additional $4,000 taking the total to $10,000 would have also replace the reading glasses. The word on the street is that eventually even these lenses will require additional corrections. After having these lenses for nine months, I have very strong mixed emotions. When wearing glasses you can see everything, you want distant vison or reading you just look. If you find yourself not wearing your glasses and need to read you can aquint and still read. If you need your glasses they are right there on your face. Now, I have great distance vision but anything detailed within 2ft is difficult. Squinting doesn't work. Now I carry reading glasses. I believe I will go back to progressive lens glasses with clear lens on top. I don't mind the $6,000 I spent because we had the money but I certainly would not take out a loan for the upgrade.
Had cataract surgery approximately three years ago. Within a Year my vision was blocked by bubble like floaters. I also had lazic surgery for $2600 to improve my reading vision. It did no good. I'm still using the same glasses for reading that I use before the surgery. To remove the bubble floaters in my right eye, I was told that for $125 they could be removed by lazic zapping (?).
Following this process, I have burnt like floaters directly in my line of sight in my right eye, again, which is the only guy I can see out of. I went back to Sweeney and saw a Retina specialist, who said he could remove the floaters in my right eye, but it would require surgery. He then said he did not recommend. Tina surgery since that is the only I can see out of. So now, after all of visits to
Sweeney eyecare, I am left with floaters burring my line of site and $2725 wasted
