Ms. Franklin at the front desk knows her stuff and goes above and beyond to assist patients with paperwork, the technicians are knowledgeable and helpful and Dr. Sheridan is kind and thorough with exams. He prescribed the best fitting contacts I've worn in the nearly 20 years I've needed them. They have a great team at the Appomattox location.

If I could give no star I would, had a horrible experience my first time going there. I got my eyes checked and had asked the lady at the counter to adjust my current glasses so they would stop falling off my face while waiting for my new ones to come in, she was unsure she would be able too, and said my glasses were old and they typically don't adjust glasses that arent brand new. She took them back and when she came back they were snapped in half, she told me "maybe you could glue them together, while you wait for your new glasses. Id recommend getting a second pair if you dont have one" and basically sent me on my way. Didnt apologize or anything. Side note I wear glasses full time and quite literally cannot see 5 feet in front of my face. (Pic of the glasses I had to superglue)

I had a very small piece of metal embedded in my eye, which I didn't know at the time. I was having vision problems and a good bit of discomfort. I called and told them the situation and they took me in quickly. They diagnosed the problem and sent me to Lynchburg to have it professionally removed. Everyone was polite, friendly and took the matter seriously. Very efficient. Thank you. I'm back on the mend.

Overall it's always a good experience. My only issue is the contact lens "fitting". During my last appointment, I was in for a 6month follow up that was mainly to check a possible issue the doctor saw previously. I wore my glasses to the appointment and had my contacts with me as well. After tests, it was determined that my eye glass Rx had changed but my contact lense Rx had not. I was given a trial pair of lenses that were not my normal brand and then was charged the contact lense "fitting fee". It seems a little sly that I had to pay for something that really wasn't necessary at the time. I probably should've spoken up and said that the trial lenses weren't needed, as I did have my own. I wound up paying the extra $55 for a pair of "trial lenses" that weren't my regular type and this was considered a "lense fitting fee". This process needs to be explained in more detail to the patient moving forward so they don't end up paying for something they do not need. It seems it's just another way to pad the bill.
