Mt. Baker Vision Clinic

I recently had my first eye appointment ever at Mount Baker Vision in Lynden, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The office is clean, comfortable, and very well organized, and the flow from check-in to vitals, the doctor visit, and then meeting with the optician felt smooth and easy. Since everything was new to me, I really appreciated how clearly each step was explained along the way. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable as a first-time eye patient, and the optician was knowledgeable and helpful when it came time to pick out my first pair of glasses. I left feeling informed, cared for, and confident in the process. Highly recommend.

After my longtime eye doctor retired and abandoned me, I was genuinely sad and a little nervous about finding someone new. At the recommendation of several friends, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Brian Koning at Mt. Baker Vision Clinic in Lynden and I am so thankful I did. From the moment I walked in, I knew I had found the kind of place I was hoping for. I've always preferred a small, local clinic over a big box setting, and Mt. Baker Vision has that welcoming, hometown feel right away. The front desk staff were friendly, patient, and helpful with all my questions. The entire visit felt smooth and well organized from start to finish. The technician who did my initial testing was incredibly kind and positive, which helped me relax. I tend to feel a little anxious in medical settings... nothing extreme, just enough to feel uncomfortable, but everyone's warmth and professionalism really put me at ease. Dr. Koning was exactly as described to me: friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, and great at explaining things clearly. As someone navigating the "joys" of aging eyes, I appreciated how he walked me through everything and made sure I understood my options. He has an excellent "chair-side" manner. Even at checkout, the experience was positive. The staff member who reviewed my prescription and lens options was helpful and easy to talk to, and had a wonderful sense of humor. It's rare for every interaction in an appointment to feel this pleasant. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I'm almost sad it's only a once-a-year visit (though I'm happy that means my eyes are doing well!). I would absolutely recommend Mt. Baker Vision Clinic and Dr. Koning to anyone looking for excellent, local eye care.

I was treated horrible at the Lynden location today. Went in planning to pay privately as I don't have vision insurance. The older lady with reddish hair demanded my medical card, which is old, but it's through the state. She basically rolled her eyes and said "WE DONT TAKE MOLINA BUT ILL CHECK FOR YOU." Which to me honestly embarrassed me. So I sat there embarrassed only for her to reassure me they don't take my old medical insurance that I wasn't planning on using. She told me to check into a membership plan - after that, no thanks. I ended up leaving, signing up for a VSP plan, and I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'll never recommend this place to anyone. I feel bad for the girls there who have to work with that lady. Way to make someone's day worse! I've worked at a vision clinic before too and I would never treat anyone that way. Take care :)

The clinic personnel were welcoming, friendly and very professional. The equipment for my exam was state of the art, top notch. Dr. Koning provided me with a comprehensive eye examination. He was so helpful in explaining each exam phase and made me feel confident and comfortable with the total process. This is now my new Optometry clinic.

I am very pleased with my experience at Mt Baker Vision. I wanted to order new eyeglasses but my prescription was 5 years old so I turned to MBVC to get a new and thorough eye exam. They were able to fit me in for an exam the following day. All of their folks were friendly, professional, and very helpful.

Awesome experience w Mt Baker Vision, and Dr Brian Koning! The staff was great! I could tell they were genuinely concerned with my care as a high priority, not just going thru the motions to get me in and out again! They truly care. I highly recommend them!

I was greated as soon as I walked in the door! Very clean and a bright office. Pleasant staff, friendly and still professional. Staff as well as the Dr. all came across as very caring. I would highly recommend this eye care center!

Dr. Koning is a true bright spot at this practice! He's always smiling and working with you, instead of just telling you what to do. I appreciate that.
