Balsam Lake Eye Associates

After cleaning up broken glass I experienced a lot of pain and discomfort in my eye, though I rinsed it many times I still had a lot of irritation. When I called and explained everything, the staff was very helpful and they were able to squeeze me in between appointments so the doctor could make sure there was no glass left in my eye. Luckily there was no glass but obvious irritation - I was given eye drops and sent on my way. Everyone was wonderful, they even went out of their way to call my insurance to see if the appointment could be billed as a medical emergency (as my vision insurance isn't accepted there). I am very grateful for the staff and would recommend the office to anyone. I felt welcomed and not as if I was a burden even though they had to go out of their way to get me in.

Larry is so nice and knowledgeable! Definitely glad I chose to stay local! The whole experience definitely made me feel like I was treated as a person and not just someone to get in and out. I have tried contacts numerous times in my life and due to dry eye, astigmatism and cost never found ones I could tolerate until I finally found Larry!! Highly recommend you give them a try. Cute frames too.

I lost my glasses at the bottom of the lake, I live 2 hrs away. My eye sight is so bad no way to make the drive back home safely. The amazing people used my old contact prescription had to sign a waiver but I'm able to get me and my kids home safely. They drove it out to me. I will forever be grateful! They are so kinda helpful and caring. Really says alot about small town medical care. I will never again go swimming without back up eye wear or let my eyes exam go over do!!! Thank you again

I've had alot of interaction with balsam lake and st croix eye associates. All 3 of my children wear glasses and now so do I. Dr Tran is amazing with children, always has a smile on and great demeanor when interacting with them.ive never seen a more engaged fun way of going about figuring put what my children need to better there eyesight and explaining to them and me what we can do to be proactive with our eye sight in ways each of us needed to hear a lesson. I have an autoimmune disorder and that has complicated my vision over the years to the point of serous worry and possible vision loss had I not gotten treated in time.it is something I will have to keep a close eye on for the rest of my life. I'll give you an example of what happened yesterday... so I went on vacation, during this time my eyes had so many different issues it was hard to nail down the exact cause. I have been to scrmc when I had vision problems and they didn't give me the tests I needed to accurately diagnose me previously, I had to go in and see Tran to finally find relief and he instructed me in the future to come in if I had any difficulty with my eyes in the future. So I called when I got back on vacate to set up an apt for my self and my daughter for her routine eye exam, the secretary told me they have no openings for 3 weeks so I scheduled my daughter 3 weeks out and explained further about the troubles I was having, they fit me in right away. I then explained all of the different issues I was having and he did several different tests that took up way more time than I'm sure he had time for in his day. He also explained what could have caused these issues to flare up the way they did. In my experience in a doc apt at last minute at the hospital ya get a 5 minute consult and send you on your way not really getting any getting concrete evidence of whats wrong and I have felt like I was an incontinence in these moments to them. Not at eye associates they are thorough and kind and are willing to help u solve whatever issue that arrives and I have always felt comfortable to ask any question I've had and they took the time to meet my needs and do the research to give me the right answer even if it's directing me some where else if it's a problem they can't solve. In the world we live in today it's rare to find that kind of customer service. I would recommend Dr Tran to anyone need help with their eyesight!

Really disappointed in this place. Just moved to the area and was looking forward to using the small town eye doctor. Had an appointment today, and Dr. Tran wasn't wearing a mask, and when I asked him to wear one, he refused despite me telling him I was at risk. Said he didn't need to despite a statewide mandate that all indoor public places require people to wear a mask. He tried to say being six feet apart would be fine and that he might be willing to wear one while sitting right next to me, but never produced a mask. Either way, the state law specifically says, verbatim, "You need to wear a face covering whenever you are indoors or in an enclosed space, other than a private residence, and other people are present in the same room or enclosed space". Pretty amazing a doctor's office (even an eye doctor) wouldn't obey state law. To top it off, after I refused to be treated without him wearing a mask, he told me I was never welcome back again at that store or any other that he owns, which I guess also includes St. Croix Falls Eye Associates, Frederic Eye Associates, Grantsburg Eye Associates, Webster Eye Associates, and this location. If you're an at risk individual, steer WELL clear of this organization. They don't care about your health, or public health.

Had a foreign object in my eye. Called and was able to be seen on short notice. Dr. Tran did a great job of removing the object, treating my eye and providing relief from the pain and discomfort. Many thanks to Dr. Tran and the staff at Balsam Lake Eye Associates for squeezing me in and providing great care.

Considering they are virtually the only local provider that accepts Group Health patients, I obtained a timely appt. My exam was not one. The Dr went to my scrip from last year and said it hasn't changed yet I'm now using 2.00 cheaters, up from 1.50 in a year. We will see how well these glasses work when I request to be examined with them on. It's unconscionable to me that the eye clinic ASSUMES that you are given the correct prescription each and every time and it is not typical to test vision with glasses on. As if no one ever makes a mistake at the lab where lenses are made? Come on!

Brought my son in he has troubles reading. He has a small RX prescription my son does. Dr.Tran was very helpful said he's going to put him in reading glasses and it should help him. My son is in IEP and starting to read a lil better. Dr.Tran is very great with kids and my son loves him. Highly recommend him if you have kids. Great since of humor too.
