I recently visited Vittala International Institute of Ophthalmology and was impressed with the quality of care. The doctors and medical staff were attentive and caring. Although the receptionist came across as a bit rude, the overall experience was positive, and I'd still recommend the hospital for its excellent medical care.

Horrible experience at this hospital recently. No organised working, no proper response from staff those who make a lot of noise gets treatment faster than those who wait for their turn sincerely. Reception / registration: staff walks away from counters even if people are standing in queue for breakfast asking people to go to next counter which is already crowded. There are aged people who are struggling to stand and still they don’t have a priority counter for such elderly patients. Visiting charges: the charges are at market standard itself. Only one counter for payment again no priority for aged. Consulting 1: No first come first serve method . The initial assessment is done by some apprentices who may know the process or doing it just like a repetitive process. I was asked to keep the chin on machine and she started moving lens into my eyes. Then she tells that it was out of focus so she is resetting it. Consulting 2: again no first come first serve no priority for aged everyone waits. This check is done by a junior doctor who after checking apparently asks for dialation which is done by one of the staff members . Total time take 45 mins to 1 hr Dilation process : staff tell us it will take min of 45 mins . The eye drops were put on my cheek and staff left only to be called back again to repeat the process. (It’s not the error but not realizing it) this happens twice or thrice during which you need to sit on wooden benches which suits the staff than the comfort of the patient. Consulting 3: the dilation process takes about an hour (my case was roughly 1.5) then after repeated follow up with staff who did not knew what the patient to be checked for said the doctor would see you next. Only upon realising that she told a wrong patient she went inside and kept the case sheet and asked me to go inside . The test was quick maybe about 10 mins and the power indicated was retained and sent . (Wait time 30 mins) In between all this there will be staff members and manager who would walk in and ask doctors to do this do that without even realising that they are attending a patient and if they get distracted it can be a wrong diagnosis. Back to reception to collet the report summary they ask us to come back next day to Collect reports as they have not received it in system. But when insisted that we need now she got up went to doctor got it done . Again no focus no priority they will keep chitchatting on some irrelevant things. People keep waiting . Finally when we came out it was roughly after 4.25 hrs which usually other clinics will do in an hour and half To add to this doctors availability is an issue and except one none of the experienced doctors was available If you have a lot of free time patience to wait please visit
