Dr. Jatin Asher is one of the most humble and professional doctors I have ever met. He is incredibly polite, calm, and patient. Despite my son’s lack of cooperation, he remained composed and was able to accurately diagnose a retinal scar. His clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and the latest advancements in ophthalmology. If you’re looking for top-quality eye care, I highly recommend Dr. Jatin Asher for all your ophthalmic needs.

I had an unpleasant experience with Dr Jatin Ashar. I visited with my father to inquire about getting lens, but the doctor insisted on LASIK surgery instead. When my father asked if the procedure was covered under CGHS, the doctor responded rudely and irritably, saying, "Har cheez CGHS ke andar nahi aata" (Not everything comes under CGHS). When my father mentioned that we could not afford the surgery, the doctor dismissed us immediately. The doctor’s rude and dismissive behaviour felt unprofessional and gave the impression that the focus was more on money than on providing patient care. Edit - Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify a few things further: 1. Regarding the insistence on surgery: While I appreciate your clarification, the fact remains that my initial query was regarding lenses, not surgery. The suggestion of LASIK surgery was made without taking my actual concern into consideration, which felt like an insistence on a different treatment. 2. Conveying information about CGHS coverage: I understand that you were sharing a fact about CGHS coverage. However, the way it was conveyed—specifically the eye-roll and the tone—felt rude and dismissive. A simple fact can be stated in a respectful and professional manner, without conveying irritation. My concern is not about the fact itself but the delivery. 3. Dismissing us after mentioning affordability: When my father expressed that we could not afford the surgery, the immediate dismissal of us from the consultation felt unprofessional. Instead of discussing alternative options or even providing some guidance, we were effectively shown the door. This is what I meant by being dismissed. 4. False promises or commitments: While I agree that false promises should not be made, professionalism involves handling all patients with respect and care, especially when they raise concerns. In our case, the conversation could have been handled with more patience and understanding, and alternatives could have been suggested instead of just ending the interaction. 5. Professionalism and respect: I believe professionalism goes beyond just giving facts; it also includes how we make patients feel during consultations. In this instance, the interaction left us feeling dismissed rather than respected or valued as patients. A more considerate and understanding approach would have made a positive difference. Edit 2 - It’s quite surprising to see how delusional one can be. At no point did I claim that Dr Ashar discussed charges or financial solutions with us. My concern was about his dismissive attitude and the way he handled our query. Firmness and being straight to the point are not the issues here. The problem is the lack of courtesy and professionalism displayed during the interaction. Rolling one’s eyes, speaking irritably, and dismissing patients when they express financial constraints are not examples of firmness—they are examples of rude behaviour. If you are unwilling to acknowledge this, that’s your prerogative, but dismissing genuine concerns as a misunderstanding or misrepresentation reflects poorly on the ability to take accountability. Lastly, your attempt to redirect me to a counsellor for further assistance misses the point entirely. This is not about needing financial advice or further treatment—it’s about the lack of respect shown to patients during a consultation.

I recently had PRK surgery at Mumbai Eye Care, and my experience has been outstanding from start to finish. The entire team, from the front desk to the surgical staff, was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and caring. The surgeon took the time to explain the procedure thoroughly, answering all of my questions and making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. The surgery itself was smooth, and the recovery process was just as they had described. I’m very happy with the results – my vision has improved significantly! I also appreciated the follow-up care, with the staff checking in on my progress and ensuring I had everything I needed during recovery. I highly recommend Mumbai Eye Care to anyone considering PRK surgery or any other eye care treatment. You will be in great hands! Thank you for giving me the gift of clear vision! Best regards, Shahrukh Khan
