I was highly recommended to Dr Ng by a specialist friend. And indeed, I had the most detailed eye examination in my life. Dr Ng was very detailed and intentional to find out about my eyes condition and to get me a pair of compatible glasses. And because I’m hyper sensitive and prone to giddiness once I put on a pair of specs, it was a challenge for me over the years to wear any glasses. Dr Ng took the efforts to have an additional round of tests done on me when I still experience the ‘floating’ sensation with the first pair of glasses. I’ve been wearing progressive lenses for many years, and as I’ve gotten older, it has become increasingly difficult to find a good pair of glasses in the U.S. It’s often hit-or-miss to get the right balance among the different focuses. While traveling to Singapore, I heard great things about 20/20 Eyecare and decided to give them a try. I’m SO glad that I did. My glasses came out perfectly for all viewing distances. I didn’t think it was possible anymore, given my recent experiences in the U.S. had been disappointing—either the glasses were not good for reading, not good for distance, or the reading “sweet spot” was too small. My U.S. doctors always had explanations but never got it right, despite many attempts over the years. The reason my glasses came out perfectly on the first try at 20/20 Eyecare was due to the expertise and care of Dr. Ng and Dr. Nguyen. They took the time to understand my specific needs and meticulously measured and remeasured with their sophisticated instruments before finalizing the prescription. I highly recommend 20/20 Eyecare. Getting the right pair of glasses is no longer a gamble.

I have made my progressives at 20/20 Eyecare for a few years now. On my first visit, I was surprised that Dr Ng took over an hour to examine my eyes! He was very careful and measured, and patient. The progressives he fitted for me was perfect. It worked right off the bat, and I got accustomed to them in a few days. On subsequent visits, I discovered that Dr Ng took the same care each time. His shop space, though small in comparison, is efficiently set up, with advanced equipment occupying the space maximally. My husband had always found it hard to get a fitting prescription. It was Dr Ng who, upon examination, told him that he likely had a trauma cataract and that until he got his eye operated on, it would be pointless to have glasses prescrbed. Thankfully, my husband received the surgery he needed and did not need glasses after all. Although the cost of progressives at 20/20 is on the higher end, it is worth the peace of mind, clear-sightedness and short adjustment period. In contrast, I tried another optician once, and though it costed a few hundreds less, the discomfort for over a month plus it took to get accustomed to the new glasses made me feel unwell and miserable. If your budget allows for it, I would recommend 20/20 Eyecare for progressives.

I have been seeing Dr Nguyen for 10 years. Very thorough and careful in her examination of my eyes. Always offers great advice on type of lenses and frames that I should get. Very good service from her and her husband. Highly recommended.
