My dad had a burst blood vessel behind his right eye 8 years ago and we visited Mount Elizabeth Novena under my financial advisor’s recommendation. Dr. Nikolle Tan was not initially my dad’s doctor but we requested to be transferred to her as her professional demeanour in explaining my dad’s condition & the treatments required are so detailed and precise. She can explain in both English and Mandarin fluently and most importantly my dad feels comfortable with her treating his eyes. The mutual trust between a patient and the doctor is really extraordinary. When she decided to open her own clinic: Asia Eye Centre Cataract & Retina Specialist @ Royal Square Medical Centre some years ago, we decided to go along as well. The staff there are very friendly and warm :)

Reception staff are all very professional and very helpful. Doctor Tan is also very experienced and addressed my questions very good. Location is convenient from Novena MRT.

Surfing is my life, which is why I got an eye injury. At the end of September 2022, I felt excruciating pain in my right eye and after visiting an ophthalmologist, I was told that I needed surgery. On November 1, they operated on my right eye in Denpasar, Bali. They thought it was "Pterygium" and I thought surgery would relieve my pain, However, the reality did not match expectations. it actually causes more serious complications of infection. For the past year, my life has felt like it was dark and covered in fog, like an endless tunnel. I was drowning in deep sadness, fighting the constant waves of depression. Even though there are still challenges to face, I feel a significant difference. Healing does not only mean physical recovery, but also emotional and mental growth. Very friendly and helpful staff, very knowledgeable and professional doctor, very pleasant visits. The blurred vision that has troubled me for one month was eradicated within a week from a single consultation and a week of medication. Doctor cleared me and shared tips to maintain healthy sight during follow-up consultation. 👍

Dr Nikolle is one of the best doctors I have encountered. She has been treating my mum for multiple eye conditions for many years. Dr Tan is professional and caring towards my mum. A big plus is that she is fluent in English and Mandarin - so communication with my mum has been clear. She always explains in detail the risks and benefits of any potential treatment with my mum and get her feedback, and she respects my mum’s decision. So overall, she is someone I would highly recommend.
