I recently underwent a complicated eye surgery at SNEC Singapore General Hospital and had a great experience. The eye care examination was very thorough, the equipment is state of the art, and the issues were explained to me clearly by the team. The surgery team was gentle, courteous, positive and the surgeon was really competent, skilled and re-assuring. The procedure was efficient and wasn't too uncomfortable even though I was under local anesthesia. I was relaxed throughout, and didn't need painkillers. I recovered well enough to return home the next day. I would give 100 stars! Well done and keep up the good work.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting SKH SNEC and was thoroughly impressed by the level of care, professionalism, and efficiency displayed by the staff. Senior Consultant Dr. Zainah attended to me with utmost professionalism and gentleness. Her extensive experience was evident in the way she took the time to explain my conditions and the process in a manner that was easy to understand. Her patient-centric approach made me feel comfortable and well-informed about my health situation. The admin staff, Shen Xueqi, deserves a special mention. Despite my oversight of leaving my referral letter from my GP at home, Shen Xueqi methodically guided me through the steps I needed to take to scan the copy I had at home and mail it to her, ensuring a seamless experience for me. Nurse Stephanie Koh was also instrumental in processing the referral letter from my GP to SNEC, SKH, enabling me to enjoy subsidised rates. What sets SNEC SKH apart from other SNEC clinics I have visited is their efficiency. At other clinics, I usually had to waste half or three-quarters of the day waiting indefinitely. However, at SNEC, SKH, everything was done in less than 2 hours. The clinic provided clear directions and instructions, and the premises were impeccably clean. The staff were fantastic, and the services were affordably priced without compromising on quality. This level of efficiency and organization, coupled with their commitment to patient care, makes SNEC, SKH. a standout choice for anyone seeking quality eye care. In conclusion, my experience at SNEC, SKH, was nothing short of excellent. I would highly recommend their services
Specially want to say a big thank you to this lady by the name of Elene Lee. My mom went for her eye check this morning and we couldn’t get hold of her as she left home early morning and was out of reach till noon. I called up the clinic and Elene picked up the phone, she went extra miles by trying to help me find my mom (she called up the clinic at level 8) this kind of nurse is rare nowadays. She has the love for patience and not afraid of hard work.
Had an eye infection, got some medication from private GP. The medication doesn’t seem to work. Eyes get more red and swollen. Adviced by SNEC punggol branch to walk in to A&E to get referred to SNEC, else the I will be charged as private patient. And Punggol branch informed they don’t accept walk-in.(-.-“). I am puzzled, SNEC isn’t is a public sector? Why still charge walk-in patients for private charges? Any way I Walk-in to A&E to see doctor, hope to get referred to an eye specialist. The kind doctor told me to get lunch first because he needs to convince the specialist to see me… (-.-“). End of the day, no specialist seen me, only normal A&E doc work as middle person to past the info to the specialist. I was not referred to the specialist and I was informed to continue with current medication… So I have to pay up the A&E fees and not getting any new medication for my condition. I was also informed to pay a visit if next few days my condition has not improved. After I left SNEC, I was assigned an appointment date which is 2 weeks near to 3 weeks later. And FYI, if you were to visit SNEC before your appointment date, they will still charge you as private patient. $163 consultation fee, exclude medication. I didn't anticipate that doctors would need to be persuaded to see a patient who arrives seeking treatment. After few days, my condition did not improve and gets even worst. So I went to a private specialist to seek treatment. End up with new medication and my condition improved with in next two days. And the fees is even affordable than paying a visit to A&E or walking in to any SNEC.
The nurses, staff in room 35 and reception here are very helpful and go out of their way to render assistance. Special credit to clinic Nurse Ahta(sorry I may not get her name right as I only overheard her colleague call her) who helped connect me to various of her colleagues in order to have my mum's case smoothly transfer to main centre. Thank you and happy holidays to one and all at SNEC Sengkang.
The experience me and my mum had to go through was simply bad ,atrocious and unacceptable due to the lack of professionalism and ruthless of your staff Shen xue qi ,who works at the registration front desk .She was rude and abrupted when attending to my mum not knowing I was a few step away attending to something. She only changed her tone when I came over questioning her on her uncalled for tone against my mother .After that she gave me the wrong information about walk in consultation timing due to wrong paper work issue by family clinic which I need to attend to ,when I revisited the clinic the second time on another day ,while waiting for my number to be called out ,she raised her voice and ask what am I waiting for,I said to her ,I'm waiting for u to call my number ! ! I was shocked beyond believe as she did the same thing to this family seated beside me obviously waited to called for a long time .To made matter worse ,she told me I can walk in anytime once I get the right paperwork on the first visit ,however ,when I presented the paperwork to her on the second visit ,she told me walk in can only be done before 3.30pm.I was shocked .as such important information should have been highlighted to me but she failed to do so . This is what you get when we r on subsidy !?rude staff ,not well trained ,,paid but dnt provide empathy , service for elderly and patient. This department needs to be looked into in terms of operation and staff efficiency .This has been my worse experience with a government structure hospital ,and it's ashamed it is due to a staff incompetence , lack of knowledge and empathy who has made the whole experience so disappointing with Singapore gov hospital! At the end of the day ,doctor didnt see my mum despite my insistence as I said it is due to staff miscommunication as they said my mum case is non emergency but will book another appointment for her .I left the clinic ,didnt want to created a scene, no point getting upset over the matter again! All I can say is ,please dnt waste your time going to this department ! Your blood pressure will go up for sure !
1 star review to the receptionist SHEN XUEQI, though the overall experience is alright. Went down today at 06/09/2023 to do the checkup with my mum. While making payment at counter 5, SHEN XUEQI is the one who attended to us. I went over to the counter when my mum name was called, she asked if I am the patient. I told her that’s my mum, I’m going to pay for it. She asked for the IC for confirmation and asked me “ she can’t talk is it?” I was shocked and ask SHEN XUE QI if you need my mum to be here? SHEN XUE QI replied yes. When my mum sit in-front of her, she asked for the IC number, my mum showed her the IC card, and SHEN XUEQI asked my mum to read the numbers to her, as it’s under PDPC. Why the staff can not check her physical card while the patient already passed it to her? And the tone SHEN XUEQI talked is so laud and rude. During the waiting time, another aunty on wheelchair was scolded as well. She’s alone and I didn’t see any family members along. If the family happen to see this review better check with the aunty. If you are not in the good mood, do not attend to your work. Such unpleasant experiences 👎🏻
At room 8A16, I do not know if he is a doctor or not as he was wearing a checkered long sleeve doing my mums eye checking. For a start, for a patient who doesnt communicate well in English the first thing the doctor should do - slow down your instructions on the patient. He was not. He was rude. He was like mam! Mam! He can repeat it many times with unhappiness showing on his face. He does not have a name tag so I cannot provide any identification. He never even asked his patient whether can communicate in English, just bombarding his commands to my mum to place her chin left or right and tilted my mums head roughly. Please do get this guy check. If he is unhappy to serve a patient, probably he shouldnt work this line.
