Aravind Eye Clinic - Madurai City Center

We came from thanjavur with two patients for paid operationnot for free. There is no proper comunication between the staff and patient. We request for near room they never listen to us. Very bad response they have to improve the service

I can't belive the negative comments in it. I have done surgery for my 86 year old mother on 27/1/25. Now she can see well. Simple, humble, polite staves and Dr's are their property. Thank you Management and Staff AEC Madhurai.

My dad have done silicon eye surgery in aravind hospital madurai. On the time of surgery they failed to do that but after a week they done the same surgery again now my father have almost lost eye vision it was not improved. Please dont go to aravind hospital madurai.

I am amazed by the process they follow before operation and after operation. Special call out for the staff, they are very humble, courteous and always in helping mindsets. We need such hospitals everywhere.

****Little long review. Just to help people who travel from long distance*** Visited this hospital on 14th of may 2022 for my father to treat the detachment(Whole) in retina Nerve. We heard about this hospital from lot of people and planned to go to Madurai from Chittoor. Traveling: we have trains and Buses from Chittoor. Best way of transport is Bus and take front seats, roads are too bad.and only train from Madanapalli. After getting down at Muthuthavani stop you can take 77 number Bus and get down at Aravind Eye Hospital. The fare is 15 rupees. Autos will charge you like 💣. People of Madurai are really very helpful. Don't Prefer car or else need to face parking issues. First Visit: we should be at main gate by 6 AM and two lines will be divided after opening gates. One line will be for new registration and other for existing. For new registration pick the form and fill it and submit at new registration counter. You should be real fast, keep aadhar number ready. You will be issued the ID card. Not even single piece of reports will be issued to you. The rest will be taken care by the staff you just follow them. I would like to appreciate the support and nursing staff for helping each and every patient. The first round will be the general consultation. Where basic test will be done and first level doctor will be consulted. Later they will refer you to the other doctors as per the problem. And testing will consume 70% of time. We went 3 times for testing.each time took 2 hours. I got my final consultation with retina specialist by 6 PM my process started at 7 AM. The best thing i experienced and which i was not expecting is the time from Doctor's. You will be half dead by the time you see your doctor but they will give you 5 min for consultation and to listen to your problem which is little relaxing. They will show there attitude which you can ignore because treatment is important for us which we are getting. Consultation Charges: Very Very reasonable. They charge just 200 rs for 3 consultations. For all 3 scans they charged me 800rs which is very reasonable again. To get your reports copy you need to pay 100 rs which is okay. NOTE: Doctor has suggested the surgery for my father which is next month. Will share that experience as well after discharging from Hospital.

I went for normal checkup. I am 41 years old(female). I had no problem in sight like reading or anything. But when they checked they touched my eyes with an apparatus inside my eyes it was very painful so after checking one eye itself I got out of the place I couldn't open my eyes it was very painful it was like a death pain. After an hour I went to another hospital the doctor mentioned that the top layer of my eyes is scratched. Then after 48 hours treatment only I was cured from pain still I am not 100 percent good. I can't forget that 2nd doctor she is a goddess for me. I have never seen a hospital like Aravind. Worst worst worst. Careless careless careless. They have to get the punishment for my physical and mental suffering. I am already a physically disabled person (leg) I have 11 years old son. God has to punish them.

Staffs have been harsh to me in regarding buying of new spects especially il third floor. There is no stylish specs there and any of them didn't meet my preferences but I had no other options to buy there for rs 2100 .There the working lady didn't give the doctors prescription for glasses,so That I can buy in lenskart according to my preferences. So Aravind hospital please do bring modern glasses or let us buy anywhere.why not give the prescription for glasses to us?? And teach the staffs to be in modest way. We are paying doctor fees nah.
