I asked about filling out the survey per the sign in the lobby but they said to just post a review, so here goes: I don't doubt that my prescription is accurate and the doctor and staff were friendly, but there is a good bit of information they could have volunteered - 1) My prescription. I didn't know that optometrists are required by law to provide a patient's prescription information and even volunteer it in case he/she doesn't know to ask (as I didn't). Even when it was provided at my request it didn't include the PD and I had to ask for this separately. 2) How to select frames. This is not just a matter of "preference", as everyone has a different face shape/size and looks best in different glasses. I had never worn glasses before (and didn't even know my face shape) and needed at least a starting point in terms of frame width, lens shape and other dimensions. After looking at the selection in the lobby I went home, researched all of this and took measurements of my face before going back and selecting frames - which I had already paid for and were 3x more expensive than a second pair I ordered online with the same prescription and options. 3) Reading distance. Because my readers came with a blue-light blocking coating, I assumed that they would be suitable for looking at my desktop screen as well as paper books and notebooks. Not so apparently, as a few weeks into using them I was still experiencing nausea and eye strain. I learned that my readers were suitable only for close-up reading and writing at a distance of no more than 33cm, while typing on or reading a computer screen requires a separate prescription as the average distance is twice as far. I assume that the optometrist staff had been referring to handheld screens on a phone or tablet but again they did not specify this. Once I stopped using my readers at the desktop the eye strain went away. I couldn't say that the staff was deliberately withholding information but some additional training may be called for, and better customer education would especially elevate the level of service.

I had an eye exam for contact . About 2 months ago I was the last appt of the day. I have never wore contacts before and I told the nurses that. At the end of my exam they gave me a pair of contact they had in house. NO ONE HELPED OR SHOWED ME how to use them. How ever they did charge me 116.00 dollars for a contact class. I tried for 2 weeks to get them in and I couldn't. So I called the office I had to leave a message to cancel that contact class. I request my money back and Per Dr.Mohan he would not refund it because I didn't come for the class. Although I called and canceled the appointment. And per the receptionist they did get my message and did cancel my appointment he still will not refund my money!!!! This is not the only problem I have had at this office . But it will be the last. They also have a high rate of office personal turnover. There seems to be a problem internal somewhere. Heflin is a very small town and word of mouth goes a long way. I have slot of family that has already moved on so I'm Just gonna go with them. There are a lot more Optometrist that have a very good reputation. I I was trying to stay in my home town but not if they are going to keep my money for services they did not perform I am contacting my bank for further action!!!

I have been going to Dr. Mohon for about 10 years now. He was the only eye doctor that was able to Diagnose my Fuchs dystrophy! I was having problems due to the disease for years and no other Optometrists or Optomologist ever told me I had it. I finally had surgery to correct it and still go to Dr. Mohon to keep up on any ongoing problems. He is a wonderful and patient eye doctor! I'm very appreciative of him and his staff!
