My overall experience was amazing. From the moment I stepped inside and talked to the receptionist, to having my beginning work done by Christina, Macy following up with some tests, and Dr Warner coming in and going over all my test results, I felt taken care of. I felt like an actual patient and not just a number because each person took the time to listen to me and answer my questions. The facility was very well lit, clean, and you could tell people liked to work there. The tests that they used to test my eyes were updated, BUT they still offered some older test modalities for anyone who is more comfortable with those. I would definitely recommend.
Unfortunately, my visits have involved repeated misinformation, poor communication, and an overall frustrating patient experience.
Throughout this process, I was misinformed multiple times by staff about my contact lens appointment and what was required of me. Initially, I was told that I would not need to pay for the contact appointment in which it did result in an additional fee. Based on that information, I scheduled and attended the visit. Later, I was told that I needed to return for another appointment related to the contact lens fitting.
Being given conflicting information on multiple occasions caused unnecessary confusion and required me to make several additional visits that could have been avoided if accurate information had been provided from the beginning.
After attempting multiple visits to resolve the issue and try different contact lenses, I contacted the office to express my concerns. The office later returned my call regarding my complaint, but the proposed solution was simply to refer me to another eye doctor at a different location rather than properly addressing the situation at their office. And the reasoning for it was for a better experience as well as being informed that the office is simply busier than their other location.
When I raised this concern with the office manager, the response I received was simply an apology and an acknowledgment that they understood my frustration. Unfortunately, no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or take responsibility for the repeated misinformation and inconvenience I experienced.
Additionally, when I went to pick up my eyeglasses from the office, the frames were bent, which was extremely disappointing after waiting for them to be prepared.
Another ongoing concern is that during my visits I have consistently felt rushed during my screenings. The exams feel very quick, and I do not feel that I am given enough time to properly discuss my vision concerns or ask questions about my eye health.
As a patient, I expect clear and consistent communication, careful handling of my eyewear, and sufficient time during appointments to address my concerns. Unfortunately, my experience at Riviera Opticare has not met those expectations.
I would appreciate this matter being reviewed and addressed appropriately so that these issues can be corrected and future patients do not experience similar problems.

Dr. Darby is great! She took time to explain everything and to make sure I got the right prescription for my glasses. Riviera also does all exams in 1 visit - unlike other optical offices who made me come back for a second visit for any additional testing. I'm really glad my husband and I both switched to Riviera.
This was my second year of getting my eyes checked here & they are still good very friendly, informative and helpful with my whole process and questions. Nice comfy waiting area, while still being modern & clean. Great team of staff who enjoy their jobs and rescheduling is easy. The customer portal doesn't always work, but that's okay. I'm glad they take my United Healthcare insurance and take the time to review and answer all my questions! The Dr I had is very bubbly and nice! Thank you guys for being in a positive spirit and excellent location serving Mesa!
I had the best service I've ever had at Riviera this week. Samara went out of her way to help me find flattering frames - to the point that I'd remain a Riviera patient just to utilize her services. She really took her time and was so patient, pulling numerous frames out for me to try and honestly reviewing them. I was amazed at her customer service skills. Julie was also very helpful in reviewing the frames and checking my insurance coverage. The assistants testing me were friendly. Lastly, Dr Keding has a great bedside manner and makes you feel as if you're her only patient. I'll be staying at Riviera as long as Samara and Dr. Keding are there!
Great experience from check in to check out. Dr Keding is very patient and explains everything as she goes. Samara at check out was amazing. Explained the process of inserting and removing contacts. Was very kind and encouraging. Could not have asked for a better experience.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at Riviera Opticare. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with smiles and made to feel welcome. Every staff member was kind, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of our questions. My daughter was fitted for contact lenses, and they were incredibly patient throughout the process, offering clear guidance and care every step of the way. The entire experience was professional and comforting. You can really tell that the team cares about their patients. Highly recommend!
I really appreciate their service. They are comprehensive and fully thorough. They explained every step of the exam and helped me to understand what was going on with my vision. I've been going to them for years and trust them. They're good.
