My left eye was blurry and double vision. After two Ultrasounds, two MRIs, and an Optometrist exam, Dr. Subei found nothing to share with me. Not only did Dr. Subei not find any thing to share with me, he raised his voice and asked me to leave his office when I notified him I was going to record our final session.
I explained at my age of 85 writing down our session was impossible. When I asked him to explain, he gave me some explanation that sounded like he was hiding from the Immigration police. Be careful here. This was scary.
I went from there to Southwestern Eye Center where they immediately found scabs on my old lens and laser removed them.
I've waited a while before posting this review. However, seeing others get ridiculed in the replies from this medical provider, I knew it was time. Dr. Subei incorrectly diagnosed me with MOGAD in early 2024. The diagnosis, he said, came from my blood work. I had a relapse this year, and decided I needed a second opinion.
I became a patient of the neurology department at the Mayo Clinic, and they requested my blood work and prior MRI through Brain and Eye.
I had to follow up numerous times, as did Mayo Clinic, and they were eventually provided with the brain MRI Dr. Subei had ordered at the end of 2023, but never my bloodwork. My next appointment with my Mayo Neurologist went over my current MRI, which showed I had MS.
This is where it all takes a terrible turn. My neurologist asked me if I had ever seen the results from my original MRI. I replied I had not (my fault for not doing so!), and she informed me that the Banner MRI had a note from a medical employee within their organization that notated I had lesions on my brain consistent with MS. I was floored.
I had been told explicitly that my MRI came back normal and that it was my bloodwork that showed I tested for MOGAD proteins. For over a year, I had been misdiagnosed and not getting the proper medical treatment. Essentially, I lost over a year of appropriate medical treatment for MS. She said my new MRI showed new lesions, and thankfully, I'm now on the correct medication and getting proper care.
I and Mayo Clinic have still not received my bloodwork, which is extremely questionable, given that it was the only thing used to diagnose me. I am sure to receive a mean reply to this Google review, but honestly, it says more about them than it does about me. If you want to go after patients in the comment section who are immunocompromised and/or sickly, maybe this isn't the appropriate profession for you. I feel for everyone who has had a negative experience with this Doctor. I want to explicitly state that the employees I interacted with were not the problem.
I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Subei, he has been amazing with me since day one and has helped me infinitely.
Im so grateful for everything he has done in the process to restore my wellness. highly recommended
Dr. Subei is awesome and I highly recommend! He's very professional, great with communication, friendly, and many more! I go to him for my migraine nerve block injections every 3weeks. I enjoy seeing him every time!
Recommended 100%
I couldn't figure out my daily migraines that i started getting about 5 months ago, they were affecting me so much in my day to day until i found Dr. Subei.
I began the treatment with him and it really began making difference from the start. I feel much better now, and my life has slowly come back to normal again.
The staff at this facility need to be RESTORED!! I've waited months to be seen at this office and after being turned around when I have to make a two hour drive because I was late. So I rescheduled and for the second time they turned me away because I was 15mins late due to traffic which I can't control. No accommodation, I offered to stay and go behind the next patient. Every time I opened my mouth the girl was being combative and kept saying well unfortunately. I have severe pain and losing vision, I've been praying for help and their major concern was a 15min grace period. That Dr. with all the praise needs a new staff!!!!!!! I will be reporting to the better business bureau.
I came to Dr. Subei because I became dizzy after having eyelid surgery. His testing was very thorough to rule out any issues/causes and I was prescribed something to alleviate my dizziness. He listened to my concerns and was very professional. Staff is great and love all of the text reminders that go out regarding appointments.
My experience in this office from start to finish was awful! My entire visit lasted maybe 15 mins, which you'd think that's a good thing but it wasn't. Let's start with the fact that they had a person in a screen checking me in which felt awkward and impersonal. The worst part of it was being seen by Dr Subei. His bedside manner needs major improvement. He was dry, and essentially told me I was dying. He did one test on me and immediately wanted to do a spinal tap and told there was a concern for a tumor or cancer. He said this without any tests, without asking me any medical history, nothing. The coldness in which he said these things to me made it even worst. He spent 5 mins with me. I walked out and got a second opinion. Turns out, nothing is wrong with me. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a doctors office. I even considers going out of state for a second opinion which should tell you a lot. Your patients deserve better treatment. Do better.
For anyone looking for a neuro-op, go somewhere else. Also, Dr Subei is not the only one in Phoenix. I went to Dr Berezovsky at Honor Health and the experience was better with a doctor that listened and cared.
