Empire Eye and Laser Center

Everyone was very professional and friendly. I was very pleased with the services. However, my eyes did not feel normal until 5 hours after the appointment. I struggled to read when I returned home. I was blessed to hear that my laser procedure will be 100% covered with my insurance and that I won't need an IV for the procedure. I do have questions. After my laser procedure on both eyes, will I need my prescription glasses to drive or can I use regular sunglasses? Please let me know. Otherwise, will I need a driver? My follow-up with Dr. Wood won't be scheduled until my return from Greece until after 4/27 and I'm concerned about my driving abilities after the procedure and during my vacation in Greece. Please let me know. Thank you.

The staff were very friendly and helpful! I was welcomed with an upbeat greeting from the front desk. The facility itself is modern and inviting. I was very impressed at the care I received being a new patient and having to visit on an urgent basis. The woman who assisted me in taking my medical information, doing some preliminary tests and preparing me for the doctor, was just so friendly, personable, kind and knowledgeable. After a couple bad experiences at other ophthalmology offices in bakersfield, coming to empire I was like a dream come true. I arrived at my appointment on time. I was seen on time. Everyone was efficient and respectful. The place was clean, aesthetically beautiful and running professionally and efficiently. The tech was just amazing. I've never had very good luck at people putting drops in my eyes, yet she was able to keep me relaxed and get them in my eye on the first try. She was so amazing. I hope I get her next time too. I'm so grateful to have found Empire Eye.

I appreciate the effort and expertise you bring to your practice. During my recent visit, I felt there were some areas where the patient experience could be enhanced. Active Listening: Taking a little more time to hear a patient's full history, even if it's not expressed in medical terms, can help build trust and ensure important details aren't missed. Patience with Records: Waiting to review prior medical records before making conclusions could strengthen the accuracy of diagnoses and reassure patients that their care is thorough. Time and Attention: Allowing adequate time for eyes to fully dilate and for a complete examination would help patients feel confident that their concerns are being carefully addressed. Communication Style: Creating space for patients to finish explaining their symptoms without interruption can make them feel respected and valued. I believe that with a little more patience and attentiveness, your already strong medical skills could be paired with an even better patient experience.

They got me in quickly for an appointment. Every staff member I met was friendly and put my mind at ease, starting with the first phone call. The in-office wait was short, maybe 15 minutes while I did new patient paperwork. Everyone was very attentive. Instrumentation was upgraded and non-invasive, compared to what I was used to. Dr. Bajwa was very informative, patient and kind. I highly recommend and will go back as necessary.

I've been going to see Dr Dang at Empire Eye And Laser for about 10 years. During this time he has successfully treated me for several eye issues. Dr Dang is knowledgeable and friendly. The office runs promptly and I usually never wait more than five minutes upon arrival to be seated for my appointment. Dr Daniel Chang, and Dr. Laura Huggins are FAR more above and beyond ANYONE COULD EVER ASK FOR IN THE WORLD OF EYE CARE AND EYE SURGERY! BUT, NOT ONLY THAT, FROM THE MOMENT YOU PLACE A TELEPHONE CALL AND ARE GREETED WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALS, TO WALKING IN THE FRONT DOOR AND BEING GREETED WITH THE MOST PLEASANT COOPERATIVE and PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL STAFF! IT IS A CONSTANT AND CONSISTENT, REASSURING AND SECURE FEELING THAT YOU COULD POSSIBLY GET! Honestly, I cannot highly recommend them enough! I was asked to participate in a study on one of the lenses I had implanted earlier this year. The staff is so supportive and friendly. The wait can be bothersome, but not excessive. I admire their professionalism and commitment to getting you in and out, but doing it thoroughly. Thanks, team!
