Please stay away from this place. My mom had a scheduled cataract removal surgery at this location. We waited for five hours even though we had an appointment for the surgery. We left because we were so frustrated. They had so many patients waiting. They didn't have enough sitting area for the patients. Overflow of patients had wait outside. How can you treat your patients like that? We couldn't trust them with the surgery. The head nurse had her children behind the front desk. She also kept going inside a room with her family members. Leaving the front nurses by themselves. Many unethical things are going on this place. Main reason why we decided not to have surgery here.The doctor values money over patient's wellbeing. Please stay away.

My sister Susan went there for cataract surgery, Dr. Kurwa is very professional, and jolly doctor. Nurses are very compassionate. The staff are very good in setting patient schedule. I will recommend this doctor 100%

Very unorganized and unprofessional. Amalia(the financial manager) does not know what is going on and tries to blame everything on the patient. First, she scheduled a surgery date without notifying us. Then, tried to blame us for not paying an amount due for (optical lens) without any regard or notice. She then continued to tell us the wrong times that she would be in office (we would show up 3x and the office was closed). I went in person to address my concerns regarding the second rescheduled surgery and she was scattering around and did not have an official document stating the exact amount of money owed for optical lens. She proceeded to write it on a random paper and did not notify me nor my father about what was needed for pre-op. I expressed my concerns and she said" Oh well you're going to have to deal with me since ive been here 35years." I do not appreciate her passive aggressiveness, attitude, and disregards towards patients. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE.

Before i decide to get lasik he told me the cornea flap would heal up as it was before surgery and that when i regress I'll be able to see through glasses and contacts just fine. LIES. 3 years later i went back into glasses and since my corneas have been permanently altered i have higher order abberations that aren't correctable with glasses nor contacts. The info that is out about lasik wasn't back then and this dr lied to me.

This doctor was a complete nightmare! Nothing short of a horror movie was my experience with him. I went in hoping to get rid of my stye. He scalped it with a numbing that lasted 5min and I drove away with a bleeding patch over my eye and in excruciating pain. My eye was on so much pain I had to take a really strong pain medication to be able to sleep. Next day my eye was swollen shut and oozing pus and blood. Two days later there's a large scratch on my cornea that impacts my vision so bad I can't even see out of my left eye. I go back to Dr Kurwa and he blames me for the scratch in my eye and says no explanation is need on his end and that he just has to fix it. He tapes my eye shut and it remains shut for an entire week. One of the most painful and difficult experiences of my life due to his negligence. My eye is still recovering from all the scraping he did and on top of that, the sty is still there. He put me through all that pain and discomfort just for the sty to remain the same. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR! When I went back to ask him he said you have an infection and sent me away. Good for nothing.

They called to reschedule my appointment. I found out they have moved to Duarte, so it was closer to home and my my yearly check up appointment there. All I have to say is after my experience the girls at the front desk need improvement at both the Duarte and Glendora location. This is the reason for the one star. Anyways I had an appointment with Dr. Kurwa at the Duarte location this past Friday. After waiting 2 hours I herd the girl at the front desk tell some he was still in surgery. I went to talk to her. When I asked her how long the wait she couldn't tell me. I rescheduled for Glendora after my experience at the Duarte office. I just wish she would have said something to me while I was waiting. I get to the Glendora office and the girl at the front desk said my insurance didn't work. I told her my insurance has not change and they excepted it before. I don't think she knew what she was doing. She tried to tell me coverage changes each month. At the Duarte office they had no problem with my insurance and the copay was suppose to be 20. After my 2 negative experience with the front desk I won't be going back. I waisted too much of my time already.

Got lasik surgery about 5 years ago- wasted money on a procedure that didnt even correct anything- made my vision worst - horrible
