I came here after a couple co-workers recommended this place that was in network. I was truly disappointed when the office manager seemed as me and my son were bothering her, (middle aged black lady).We were trying to get our insurance information from Kaiser, but couldn't find it on a pdf file. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere because we felt very uncomfortable by her.

I have been wearing glasses since I was a small child, and Dr.Kamiyama has been my optometrist since I was 8. Since growing up with him as my Dr, he has always made the experience fun and stress free as a child, and is a dear family friend for my family and I. I will never be able to recommend my own Dr enough.

I started to have eye problems and made my appointment here to get an exam. Being new to the world of bad eyes and after now dealing with this for a few months, I am extremely disappointed that I chose this optometry office. Everyone here is extremely nice, however they are severely lacking in their education for patients that are new to the world of glasses. Upon my eye exam, I was never talked to about contacts (which I want), nor asked about my expectations or lifestyle when being fitted for glasses. Being uneducated at the time because I was new to this, I ended up purchasing what was basically a super expensive pair of reading glasses. I spent my $200 dollar allowance through insurance as well as an additional amount for various coatings. Sadly, because I was never really educated about what these glasses were about, I ended up spending all my insurance money (as well as my own money) buying glasses that did not suite my professional lifestyle and I no longer use. It took a long 2 weeks to get the glasses and once I got them I was heartbroken to learn that the glasses purchased were just for reading and if I looked up with them (which is required for me work), I would get sick. I called and they did offer to get me different bifocal lenses for free which were going to supposedly expedited (which took 2 weeks), but by this time I had already went to Costco, spent 1/4 of the cost and got my new glasses in my hands that actually function for my lifestyle. All together the lack of education of this place has cost me out of pocket over $400.00 as of now and because I was never told that I would need a separate exam for contacts I will now have to pay for another exam elsewhere which will be around $120.00 bringing me to almost $500.00 out of pocket. Beyond all of the money I have had to spend, it took way over a month to actually get relief and be able to function with seeing because of my error of coming here. Their turn around times are extremely slow and their technology severely lacking. Again, everyone is very nice here, but if you are new to the world of bad eyesight, I suggest you go elsewhere.

Very friendly and jovial office! Always feel welcome. Dr. Is the nicest guy and really takes his time with you to make sure you get the right prescription and are comfortable with his evaluation. The office staff is soooo lovely and accommodating. I have first hand witness of their patience with difficult or uncomfortable clients and situations. True professionals. I'm happy to have found this office and cannot recommend them enough!

I left a ophthalmology office in Highland that I have been going to for 20 years.I changed to East Highland family. After I left this office for the 1st time I wrote an email to the doctor with a compliment on the whole office and the staff. What a breath of fresh air to be treated so nice, have a good selection of eyeglasses eyeglasses and the whole experience was a A+

The Staff is great! Very courteous and helpful. The Dr. Is very pleasant and wants only the best for your eyes. I didn't spend a lot of wasted time in there. The are very efficient at this office. I love it!!! I would recommend anyone here.

Super Optometry services here! Staff is great Dr. Kamiyama was THOROUGH & INFORMATIVE ! I will travel 35 miles + to have my exams / needs met. A++++ to East Highland Optometry!

I've gone to Dr Kamiyama 10 plus years. He is professional and caring. He counseled and helped me understand my condition before he referred me for eye surgery.
